Conservative Feminism: Truly Empowering Women
American Thinker ^ | 6/10/2014 | Chad Felix Greene

Miss USA 2014, Nia Sanchez (Nevada), just so happens to be a fourth-degree black belt in taekwondo, and liberal feminists are not too happy about it. Cosmo editor Elisa Benson responded with this tweet: “I get that the college sexual assault problem can't be solved in 30 secs but still icky to pretend like self defense is the answer.” The Huffington Post’s very own Mandy Velez (editor) tweeted: “Let's hope Nevada uses her media tour to reiterate that teaching girls self defense is NOT the best way to protect against assault.” This is not a new conversation. In 2013, Zerlina Maxwell wrote: “I think that the entire conversation is wrong. I don’t want anybody to be telling women anything. I don’t want men to be telling me what to wear and how to act, not to drink. And I don’t, honestly, want you to tell me that I needed a gun in order to prevent my rape. In my case, don’t tell me if I’d only had a gun, I wouldn’t have been raped. Don’t put it on me to prevent the rape.”

Feminists seem obsessed with every possible detail around perceived male dominance when it comes to gentlemanly manners, as told by Paloma Phelps, an intern for Feminists Organized to Resist, Create, and Empower:

It’s problematic because the revival of chivalry seems to only consist of baseless acts of kindness that are meant to affirm a woman’s place as less capable and [more] fragile,” The article quoting her asserts that practices like “…holding open doors, lending a jacket to a friend who is cold or giving up a seat on the bus for someone who needs it more. It still implies that the practitioner is a noble “gentleman,” and because men are practicing chivalry…

What I found curious is the way these femnazis responded to this answer of self defense is the same way liberals respond when it comes to the 2nd amendment and defense. The bottom line being, they just don’t like it when crooks find it difficult to commit their crimes - “He broke into your house and threatened to kill your family and you shot him? That is *so* icky!”

I find it ironic that men are constantly told they only care about women as sex objects, but when I walk through a checkout line, I see magazines like Cosmo, and every cover trumpets sexy looks and how to have better sex.

Most of it could be "solved" with a lot less effort than earning a black belt or even carrying a tire iron. Just don't get drunk or high.

What the Left would like is to have you stop the criminal and have a dialog with him. Ask him about his feeelings (sic). Form a $3.2 million committee to investigate what society did to him to make him that way. Spend another $4.7 million to spread awareness. Sue the homeowner for not having enough security to keep the criminal out.

Take the gun away from the homeowners and put a large orange fluorescent sign in their front yard that says, “GUN FREE ZONE”-that way, the homeowners will never be robbed again and less would-be robbers would see the sign not stop there because they will have been warned that guns are not allowed their.

So women's self defense is bad? Bizarre. But what do you expect from those harpies.

RE :”So women's self defense is bad? Bizarre. But what do you expect from those harpies.”

Calling for women to (prepare to) defend themselves from men is ‘blaming the victim’.

To recognize societies inherent sexism we must call for the men to protect the weak incapable woman, I learned this from the feminists on ‘To the Contrary’

And don't forget 'equal pay' lawsuit bills.

Feminists don’t want to be empowered. They want to be indemnified.
