Out: Bergdahl deal was an Obama triumph. In: Um, Chuck Hagel did it
Human Events ^ | June10, 2014 | John Hayward

The ever-shifting maze of lies and evasions billowing out of the Obama Administration over the Bowe Bergdahl prisoner exchange hits an astonishing new low, as Obama has apparently decided it’s time to hide under his desk and blame Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel for the whole thing. Thus does a “triumph” become a disaster in the span of less than ten days. By the end of the week, Obama will be claiming he didn’t learn about the Bergdahl swap until he saw people talking about it on a TV news show.

snip

One of the reasons President Hagel is taking so much heat for this deal is that even Democrats in Congress are anywhere from miffed to furious that they were kept in the dark. That does give them room to distance themselves from the Hagel Administration, which most of them are doing. News reports claim Hagel still has staunch defenders in his caucus, but the only ones who ever seem to get quoted are Sen. Reid, Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois (who’s still running White House talking points from last week, in which all criticism is partisan, and Republicans who criticize the deal are insufficiently concerned about Sgt. Bergdahl’s fate) and Rep. Louise Slaughter, who thinks keeping Congress out of the loop was okay because “I wouldn’t tell 435 people a secret either.” Presumably she draws the line at 90.

The media overplayed its hand with the Clinton impeachment,

Correctly handled, impeachment is THE investigation. It sets wheels in motion - flushes out the chumps who look to save their own skin.

So .... why wasn’t Hagel running the Rose Garden ceremony then? Oh, that’s right .... Obama has a case of narcissism that precludes giving any credit to those REALLY responsible for decisions someone else makes (Hagel? .... yeah, riiiiight) unless and until they go bad like this cr@p weasel traitorous negotiating with terrorists for a deserter. Another whopper LIE we’re supposed to choke down and say “thank you so much - more please” from the cowardly fop in the WH.

Yeah, I guess Chuck, much like his buddy Senator McVain, is finding out bipartisanship and reaching across the aisle isn’t all that great after all. I wonder if there are any DC area dry cleaners who specialize in removing bus tire track marks off of suits. I think Chuck will need their services soon.

Mental midget UpChuck as SecDef is not authorized to make any of these decisions EXCEPT at the bidding of der Fuehrer.

They’ve effectively said that Hagel broke the law by deciding on and implementing this without consulting congress, which he has not authority to do anyway. Throw him in a dark prison hole so he can never come back to Nebraska, we don’t want him back.

It’s another incredible lie from an administration and party with no credibility other than the credentials of avowed anti-constitutional socialists.

Yes he does. Won’t that be fun. Hegel isn’t exactly known for his eloquence.

Obama let’s five terrorist bigwigs go, and now there are attacks on the main airport in Pakistan and Al-Qaeda is taking over cities in Iraq.

The Democrat Party hitched their wagon to Obama and the dumbass has pulled them over a cliff.
EVERY terrorist attack now belongs to the Democrat Party.

I don’t see how anyone in govt can handle anything correctly even if they were equipped to do so, which only two of them are, with the media running thing- which they do

I propose that Boehner be ousted and Allen West installed as Speaker of the House. That is hope and change I can believe in.

Here's my take on how this will ultimately play out:

1) The "Hagel decided" thing will come down to the press misunderstanding / misreporting what was meant. It will turn out that Hagel decided not to tell Congress, not that he decided the release. That insulates Øbama from the legal exposure. The Chuckster goes under the bus.

2) That Bergdahl was indeed a traitor. There are fringe reports in the news now that the search parties had "shoot on sight" orders. It will turn out that Bowe gave material aid to the Tali-man, teaching about IED's, etc. To his defense, dad will say that his son just wanted to protect the poor peasants from the big, bad army.

3) and because of 2, Øbama thought it was definitely worthwhile to trade 5 not-so-bad-guys-after-all. Already we're hearing reports they were just provincial officials, political, not military. Barry thought is a good trade to give them up for the more dangerous turncoat so that ...

4) Øbama can bring a traitor to justice as part of his grand wrap-up of "the just war."

I impart no sense of truth to the above, it is just the way I see the reporting headed. The 10 days of lies will be passed off as necessary stalling tactics while the gubermint sorted things out, get the debrief from Bowe, etc. and it was all in the name of national security.

What if Bowe has indeed gone full Muslim? I think there is a very good chance that is the case and explains perhaps why he has not communicated with Mom and Dad.

For all his foibles, I believe that Dad is still a Christian. This was asserted by associates of his who claimed to have recently spoken with him.

I hope the DoD has swords earmarked on its budget. Ol’ Chuck may need one to fall on.
