CANTOR LOSES

RICHMOND, Va. — Dave Brat, a local economics professor, toppled House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on Tuesday night in the most shocking primary defeat since Republicans took the House in 2010.

The conservative challenger’s victory halts one of the most meteoric rises in national politics, and illustrates the strong anti-incumbent fever that has taken over Cantor’s Richmond-area district. Cantor is the second House incumbent to lose this primary season — Texas GOP incumbent Ralph Hall was defeated by a tea-party backed challenger at the end of May.

Cantor’s defeat not only reorders Virginia politics, where Cantor was the highest-ranking Republican, but it completely throws the House Republican leadership into flux. Cantor, 51, was long seen as the next speaker of the House after John Boehner retires.

I like Cantor but he better not mount a write-in.
I don’t think he will.

“Will the GOP-e unite behind the nominee, or will they pout and divide the republican vote so the Democrat takes the seat.”

Let’s not lose sight of the VICTORY. First, as far as I am concerned, I don’t even care if a Pelosi clone took the seat - as long as Cantor is on his ass.

Furthermore, Cantor can try WHATEVER HE WANTS now...but he has to get at least 16 Republicans to follow him. I suspect that most have no interest in also losing their next Primary.

Now the important question: Will the GOP-e unite behind the nominee, or will they pout and divide the republican vote so the Democrat takes the seat. I hope they come up with the right answer, but my confidence is not as strong as I’d like.

the other important question is, how did he do it...

A cursory look, it was one Tea Party Candidate, and he seemed to talk about one item that resonated with the base. A formula for victory? Let us see...

“A write-in campaign for Cantor was mentioned on Fox just a few minutes ago. I don’t know who brought it up but I heard it said.”

And SO WHAT!!! Even if he can mount a strong write-in, he still needs 16 other Republicans to support him on Amnesty - are they willing to put their careers at risk...especially considering how much money Cantor had and still lost?

ENJOY THE VICTORY!!! We’ll deal with what comes next tomorrow.

Just reported by Fox News that Cantor is going to push for Amnesty as soon as possible!

A big "rooster" with it's head cut off will still dance around for awhile but it sends a chill to the other little "chickens" who crow about "amnesty"

I’ve been watching county by county as it comes in. Graham has fallen below 60% overall but isn’t losing outright in a single county. Not that many are reporting below 50% Graham. I’d love to be wrong but I don’t see it happening.

Let’s hope this wakes up other “moderate” Republican politicians. Maybe some of them will now fight harder for conservative values!

Megan Kelly on Fox now—she started actually BEFORE 9:00 pm, displacing O’Really.

Has Brett Baier, Carl Cameron, Brit Hume, and one other guy on her panel. Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter on the phone.

Joe Biden just tweeted “This is a big fu$%ing deal!” /s

If they do that Boehner will lose his seat in the General and every Conservative in the Country
Should contact his office and let them know you will donate funds and work against him.

So the answer to my question is “yes”, DEMs could have voted to oust Cantor.
