The Top 8 Consequences of Cantor's Defeat
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | June 10, 2014 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 06/10/2014 8:46:43 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

On Tuesday night, one of the most stunning upsets in Congressional primary history took place, with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) losing his primary to economics professor Dave Brat. Brat campaigned on the platform that Cantor was a backer of amnesty legislation; heavy conservative media coverage of the thousands of illegal immigrant youths pouring across our inundated southern border contributed to a sense of urgency. So Cantor is out.

And the landscape has radically shifted, both for the Republican Party, and for the 2014 election. Here are the biggest ramifications of Cantor’s defeat.

Boehner Is Likely Done. The writing has been on the wall for Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) ever since a failed House insurgency in the aftermath of a coup attempt against his speakership in January 2013. Boehner had been under fire ever since his sequestration deal with President Obama in 2011; his “fiscal cliff” deal with President Obama at the end of 2012 only drove further pressure. Boehner’s repeated attempts to covertly push amnesty legislation have lost him his base. And the departure of many of his top allies in Congress leaves him vulnerable this year. Cantor’s ties to Boehner may signal that a successful insurgency is on the way. Aides are telling the National Journal, “We’re absolutely stunned. Honestly, we really can’t believe it.”

The “Young Guns” Are Firing Blanks. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Cantor were considered the so-called “young guns” in the House, preparing to take over leadership from Boehner and company whenever he stepped down. Ryan and Cantor have been vocal about their desire for immigration reform legislation this year. Cantor is now gone. And Ryan’s position as a leader is in serious jeopardy.

The Death of the Tea Party Was Greatly Exaggerated....

Obama will rage between now and the mid-terms, and if republicans win the Senate, it will be accusations of all-racism all the time.

The Titanic is sinking and everybody's running around screaming about the stowaways on board.

The Tea Party and every right-thinking American needs to get focused on the BIG problem: the "silent" coup d'etat of our free constitutional republic by the unconstitutional $4 trillion federal government and the usurpation of the Constitution by the dangerous and traitorous power gathering dictatorship of Barak Obama.

Why is no one talking about this? Is it because no one ELSE is talking about it? Or is because the Left still subtly controls the "talking points" because they run most of the news broadcasts and newspapers?

Who on the Right is going to QUIT PLAYING POLITICAL RING AROUND THE ROSY and start talking about the ONE THING the Left doesn't want to hear talked about: the salvation of America by cutting government by 80% (=$800 billion, still too big but it's a start) and taking down the would be dictator in the White House.

“They thought voters stupid as they always claimed that it was the next time when they’d make a stand. It became evident they were just gaming the people.”

Every Freeper best dang well remember these words and repeat them daily lest they forget them.

Because ‘gaming the people’ with that strategy is exactly what the GOP shills/plants on FR do when they demand we unite behind the closet democrat. And then tell us that now is not ‘the right time’ and ‘next time’ we can elect conservatives’.

Anyone notice the pattern? Everyone should.

Stunned voters do stunning things - Cantor loses--- hip-hip-hooray. Equally stunning: hordes of immigrant children crossing the border, EPA shutting down industries when we’re hurting for jobs, gas prices at $4.00 a gallon, vote-crazed Dems allow Veterans to die but buy votes by forgiving student loans, etc, etc.

I would bet dollars to donuts, voters shot to the polls, appalled at news clips of:

<><> State Dept bimbos Marie Harf and Jen Psaki actually telling us THEIR half-witted views on national security:

<><> Bret Baier being called a dude by dumbo Tommy Vietor who was given ntl security clearance by the halfwit Obama.

<><> Susan Rice. Period.

Yes, this is of crucial importance. The GOP-e, RINOS have failed to address this issue, but many in the GOP are showing signs of awakening.

Obama is converting our nation into a fascist dictaorship. Its so bad for the economy and for our allies abroad. Horrible. Constitutional Freedoms of Free Speech and Freedom of Movement have been diminished by high gasoline prices and IRS activity of auditing vocal conservatives and conservative groups.

Few people understand the history of this Obama fascist evolution and what it means for our nation, certainly the GOP does not.....yet, Read this:

Ohio Gov. Kasich is married to a pro-abort flaming lib.

Some idiots like Hannity consider Kasich as a Conservative....Now that’s a laugh.

The American people need an awakening but I'll take what I can get. I have to take this by faith, because I see no signs yet.

Nobody on either side of any discussion on Fox News with anybody talks about this. Few, if any, on supposedly freedom-loving Free Republic talks about this (lots of hand-wringing about "conservatism", little fervency about freedom). Even the Tea Party seems to be getting bogged down in the issues of "stowaways on the sinking Titanic."

May the God who has rescued America for his name's sake and the extension of mercy upon the earth, help us yet again, I pray.

he removes kings and sets up kings

the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will, and sets up over it the basest of men

the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will

the heavens do rule

the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What are you doing?

(Daniel 2:21; 4:17, 25,26,32,35)

I pray to the the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who is bigger than and rules over all the Alinskys, Obamas, and Fabian Progressives of the world - the prayer of Jehoshaphat:

O our God, will you not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon you (2 Chron 20:12).

As I recall Cantor has been in the House for 13 years. That’s enough and it’s how term limits should work.

The US Senate must be won this year or we’ll be in even worse shape these next two years — and decades to follow.

When the Republicans win the Senate and the House, be prepared for Obama’s Federal Reserve pick, Yellen, to crash the propped up economy so blame can be fixed on republicans and pave the way for Hillary in 2016.

I don’t have a crystal ball or anything, but I think it’s a done deal if republicans get both houses of Congress.

How do you get rich if the market crashes again?

Short stocks.

Short pools of mortgage loans.

Highly recommended:

I never did understand how someone could make money shorting stocks unless they started with an enormous amount of money. Is that pretty much right?

Actually you can purchase “out of the money” puts pretty cheap.

Consider Pulte Co, one of the largest homebuilders, currently trading at 19. It was a single digit price during the crash.

You can buy Jan 2016 puts (right to sell 100 shares at 15) for 1.50.

30-40 million illegals-turned-citizens makes “America” stop at the next election cycle. You’re hand-waving at this problem doesn’t diminish it in the slightest.

The horrible spending issue is a significant one, but it’s not the only significant one.

The horrible spending issue

The Titanic is sinking and you're calling it "a leak issue" while running round with everybody else screaming about all the stowaways.

Good. Go for it. Deal with the stowaways. See how much good that'll do you in freezing water when the American free constitutional republic ship of state has disappeared from a collision with the Collectivist Totalitarian State.

What will you do when there's nothing else left, your freedoms have disappeared, and you're struggling to survive? You'll quickly forget about the stowaways the Left wants you to focus on. Nothing else will matter anymore except survival. That is the story of the citizens of every Socialist state.

There is nothing else but what you deem essential. Got it. Good luck with that.
