NBC's chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd pointed to a story originally broken Breitbart Texas abut the U.S.-Mexican border being flooded with illegal immigrant children as the main reason behind the "perfect storm" that caused House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) to loss the GOP primary to Tea Party challenger Dave Brat.
Todd credited the grassroots anti immigration movement reaction to the story.

We elect these people, and then they pointedly ignore everything we say. And we say, stop letting thousands of illegals cross the border and giving them our hard earned tax dollars.
For the past few days, even the MSM has had pictures of the thousands of kids from Mexico and other countries that Obama has been flooding the US with. Well, the GOP is hearing us tonight. The sad thing is, it won't change them. They'll just pout a little, and try to figure out another way to manipulate us. An elitist is an elitist. They have no respect for us. And they certainly hate the TEA party.
I do get some pleasure out of "rising from the dead".
The GOP-E Leadership in the US House, (Boehner, Cantor, and Ryan), is always gullible to Obamas tricks.
Consequently, Boehner, Cantor and Ryan, have all pledged to ram through this unpopular Obama Amnesty Bill due to Obamas illegal decision to flood the USA with children from Mexico and Central America.
It is time to kick the GOP-E out of Congressional Leadership!
Spanked, huh..?
I’m bellowing “NO MORE WIRE COAT-HANGERS” and am setting up the water boarding gear.
A week ago Brat was down 13 points in the polling, now he wins by 12.
That’s a 25 percent swing and I suspect the illegal children crossing the border made a big difference in this election.
The GOP someday will have to decide who they serve. The corporatists or the middle class constituents who vote for them.
Yep!
Finally, some good news on the political scene.
I sure helped.
Is there any possibility that Democrats voted in this primary?
Chuck Todd is right, but why didn’t it work in South Carolina? Shocking, really, that Graham dodged another bullet. Graham and Cantor carry the water for 60 thousand illegals, Mexican kids no less.
The United States can’t stop kiddies from breaching our border! Treason.
Since it is the Obama Administration that is 100% responsible for children flooding our borders, it is safe to say that Chuck Todd credits the Obama Administration for ousting Cantor.

Yep.
The worst part is they openly disrespect American workers and unemployed. Where within these immigration reform bills are there any incentives to the hiring of citizens first or making sure that the borders are secured and enforced? Congress could give states the right to police their own borders. All we have heard this year from the GOP is talk of compromise and surrender in some form or another. We finally force the hand of the President with sequestration and have Obamacare’s failure front and center and our feckless leadership manage to continue to piss away the advantage talking a potential compromise(aka surrender) on an amenesty bill crafted by Chuck Schumer while the President just ignores the law entirely.
I don’t know what in the hell those guys on capital hill are smoking but they need to come down from that high. Tonight hopefully jolted them. We are not serfs to be ordered and shamed into submission to serve corporate or political interests of a narrow elite. WE DO NOT ELECT THEM TO GO TO WASHINGTON TO COMPROMISE WITH LEFTISTS!
As per Ballotpedia: Primary: Virginia is one of 14 states that uses an open primary process, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party’s primary.
Voter registration: Voters had to register to vote in the primary by February 10, 2014.
Don’t know why the question of Dems voting in this primary matters. There is no dem or any other candidate on the ballot in November. David Bratt will be the next Representative of the 8th Congressional Distrct of Virginia.
Correction, 7th District.
Yes, it is an open primary. I am sure there were a lot of cross over votes. But the victory is so big that just can’t be all of it.
I totally believe crossover voters helped Brat, not that I don’t think that he is one smart dude, because he is.
It is kind of a double “sweet” they just hosed themselves by elevating this Smart feller.
Everybody in the country is now about to realize just how smart he is.
It’s a BINGO!
