Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) called on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to outline the administration's plan to handle a huge influx of children migrating across the U.S.-Mexico border.
“What we need is a comprehensive look at what are the incentives that would convince parents to send their unaccompanied children on this horrific journey,” Cornyn said on Tuesday. “We need to know that the president’s plan is to deal with this.”
Cornyn’s comments came as senators announced a nearly $2 billion deal to address the issue after the administration said 47,000 children have been caught crossing the border since October of 2013. Cornyn said the massive increase of unaccompanied children is a result of President Obama’s decision to defer deportation of undocumented immigrants who came to the country as children, a group commonly referred to as “Dreamers.”
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) joined Cornyn, saying it is an issue that “deserves the attention of all of us.”
“There has to be some kind of organized effort that is bringing them here,” McCain said. “The average 5-or-6-year-old doesn’t just randomly decide to leave home one day.”
Johnson is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and Cornyn is expected to grill him on this matter.
“The administration needs to deal with this crisis, particularly this humanitarian crisis,” Cornyn said. “Border agencies have been completely overwhelmed. ... This is a huge mess.”
The Texas Republican said this is what happens when the president "goes it alone" on immigration reform. The Senate has passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill but the House has failed to act.
Cornyn urged Obama to not apply the deferred action program to children currently arriving at the border, and provide resources to border states to address the problem.
"President Obama essentially created this problem and now he has the opportunity to work with us to fix it," Cornyn said.

All he has to do is order the National Guard to post at Customs and refuse to allow Anyone to enter that isn’t legally able.

They aren’t “child migrants”. They are shills whose parents have put in the illegal immigration game. Obama will give them citizenship and they, in turn, will sponsor their parents and relatives.

The MSM was all over Bush for not “handling” Katrina properly. It seems that Obama is already handling the immigration issue with the same competence displayed during the Obamacare roll-out. Children will die and the MSM will bury the story ten pages back and below the fold. They’ll also use euphemisms such as “12% Of The Children Have Acquired Mortality Sedentary Syndrome, AMSS, Most Likely Due To Global Warming.

This has a simple Obamatastic solution. Simply invite the parents and extended family to come collect these grappling hook babies and pay for the journey. Once here offer free housing and cash assistance.
You know it’s going to happen. It’s for the children afterall.
The solution to this problem is similar to the Gitmo problem
Release all the prisoners and end gitmo. Here the solution is to as you say allow all these kids and then their families by default.

I call it the “0bama Doctrine” . He has a way of separating himself from all the negativity he creates in his admin. by blaming others (Bush) etc. for his personal failures . The media also carries a tremendous amount of water for a coverup of these failures .
Jan Brewer should load up a bused caravan of of these illegal drop offs in her state and send them to 1600 Penn. Ave. .
