Native Americans are sending a loud message to the Washington Redskins.
A northern California tribe paid for a commercial to air in seven major U.S. cities during halftime of Tuesday's NBA Finals game, their latest plea for the NFL team to change its “racist” name and mascot.

IF they can afford airtime, then they can afford to buy the team, and change the name themselves. It’s only a few billion, create a couple of shell “solar green energy” companies, and they’d have that in no time. . .

“Native” Americans are not more native than I or my mother, father, sister, uncle, aunt or cousins. My family line goes back to the American Revolution.
They immigrated here from Scotland, Germany, Ireland and Denmark. The “Native” Americans immigrated here from Asia. It is just a matter of timing.

How does the Washington Drunken Casino Operators sound?
A large number of “Native Americans” live in poverty on the scale of the worst 3rd world countries. Alcoholism and drug abuse are rampant. Unless the tribe has casino money coming in they are screwed. On a cross country trip I self detoured thru Arizona and saw part of the reservation near Globe. It was clear why many of the Apaches decided it was better to die on their feet than live on their knees in the dirt. But the perpetually offended spend their time fussin’ over the name of a stupid football team.
One more thing...my great-grandmother was full blood Creek. On an early 20th century census she listed her race as “colored” as blacks were treated better than Indians. Where’s my restitution???

Off the main subject but...being from an old style, obsolete education I knew instantly who Philip Nolan was. I wonder how many of today’s college grads know.
Back on subject...when will the campaign begin to change the TRIBAL names of every high school and/or college in the USA proudly used as the nicknames of athletic teams.
No more “GO APACHES” or “HIT ‘EM COMMANCHES”
