Pete Sessions is a Representative from TX (and a RINO weasel). You are thinking of Jeff Sessions who is a Senator from AL and a fine conservative.

My mistake, Pete must be Jeff’s anti everything from what it sounds like. Maybe Jeff should change his name.

I don’t care. The least we can do is not vote in a pro-amnesty ML.

Amnesty is not all black and white. There is a lot of gray in many immigration reform proposals.

My main opposition is to anything which puts illegals on a fast track to citizenship. There are usually several million foreigners waiting to get a green card (permanent resident visa) legally, in their own country.

Since the illegals broke immigration law, they should be deported. However that is a gargantuan task to locate and deport 10-15 million people.

I would prefer laws which prohibit employers from hiring illegals. That will result in self-deportation of millions of illegals. If that law can not be passed (we all know Obummer will not sign it) next best thing is to place illegals at the end of that line of millions waiting for green cards legally.

Also the immigration reform must include immediate deportation of any illegal who has broken other laws. The easiest way to separate these criminals is to issue temporary work permits to those who have not broken any other laws. When stopped by police, if you do not have the work permit, you will be on the next bus to Tijuana.

For those who are not familiar with immigration procedures, first you must receive permanent resident visa also known as green card. After 3 years on green card, you are eligible to apply for US citizenship if you have not broken any laws. For those waiting legally to get a green card, it takes several years in waiting line.

We should deport when an illegal comes to light. I would never favor a police task force running around investigating Americans. However, those who come to light by virtue of employment or any other misstep on their part should be sent back to their country of origin.

It is not fair that an illegal should butt in line ahead of an immigrant who is trying to do things legal, be on our immigration lists, and show a willingness to go through out process and learn about our country.

Don’t tell me that illegals have kids, either. Don’t LEGAL immigrants have kids? What is right about hurting the legals’s kids and rewarding the illegals’ kids? NOTHING. And it encourages even more illegal immigration.

I agree we should deport illegal immigrants.
I said as much in my previous post.

The question is how do you find them illegals!
We can’t count on the police to find them.
May be 1% will be stopped for a traffic violation
or other suspicious activity. Police are not present
on every street corner. Police can’t even find the
10 most wanted on FBI list. How the heck will they
find 15 million illegals?

So...the best method would be to pass laws making it
against the law to hire illegals. This will require
setting up a vast database of legal US citizens and
legal residents on green cards. Or, the law can place
the burden on employers to determine who is illegal.
Does not sound like a practical approach. Look at he
fiasco on signing up for Obamacare after spending over
a Billion dollars just to set up the web sites.

The only PRACTICAL approach I see is issue work permits
to those who wish to come forward and apply. Those can
be processed for criminal background checks. I believe
this infrastructure is already in place. Employers can
then fire anyone without a work permit.

This automatically weeds out those who choose to remain
in the shadows or have criminal records. It becomes easier
for law enforcement to differtiate those who should be
deported immediately.

Step one always has to be total control of borders, coasts, airports, and visas. That means no more illegal entry.

If we don’t run ANY special program to find or authorize illegals, and simply deport those that come to light through some mis-step, then truly controlled borders will eventually bring an end to 99.9% of illegal immigration.

Other countries control their borders pretty well. Why can’t the US?

Absolutely correct. Borders are a joke. Also note that over 50% of the illegals entered legally on a tourist visa or student visa and never left.

That is why only effective method is to make it illegal for
employers to hire illegals. If they can’t work, they will self-deport.

If they, any of them, were sincere, they could secure the border using current laws. They don’t need new laws for that.

Obummer and Holder are doing everything to encourage illegals to stay. Heck they fought with Arizona when Arizona wanted
to enforce federal immigration laws!

May be Romney would have been a better enforcer of
immigration laws. But that is now water under the bridge.
