I am not sure if law already exists to forbid hiring illegals. But even if it did, how can the employer verify
legal status? There is no federal data base of legals versus illegals. So the law is meaningless, if it exists.

I pretty sure it’s illegal because they arrested some contractors here in the greater Cincinnati area for doing it.

You are probably right about the database, though.

I will admit that I’m really uncomfortable with citizens being required to carry some kind of citizenship ID. A birth certificate kept at home is OK with me, but I don’t want to encourage big brother. The NSA spying troubles me.

Other countries control their borders pretty well. Why can’t the US?

Many reasons....USA has larger borders than most countries. Another serious problem is conditions in our neighbor country of Mexico are much worse in terms of standard of living.

I have traveled all over the world, and you rarely come across such disparity between neighbors. Europe has so many small countries but living conditions in neighboring countries are no where as disparate as USA & Mexico.

But the main reason we can not control our borders is the type of people we elect for president (the executive branch who is the enforcer of laws). Obummer and Holder do not want to enforce EXISTING immigration laws or build a border fence.

“Sounds about like Cantor II; the GOP could do no less.”

A LOT of people put a LOT of money into buying Cantor’s good graces, as he would be the most likely next speaker. You didn’t think they were just going to walk away from all that money, did you?

This is just round four, and they let their guard up. Boehner, Graham, and McConnell all won their primaries easily.

Never wound a king.

At this point, I’m less than thrilled with the idea of having anyone from a blue state in a leadership position. They’re too accustomed to groveling at the feet of Democrats.

Apparently, Jordan has said he is not interested. Jordan is probably the most conservative member of the House...at least among the most conservative. And he is a traditional conservative. It doesn’t matter since he isn’t interested anyway. It requires a unique skill set to be whip, majority leader, or speaker. Jordan’s probably just being honest about his strengths.

In short, no thanks.

Make verification of citizenship or legal status a prerequisite for ANY goobermint services or bennies EXCEPT emergency medical care.

Eliminate the “anchor baby” interpretation of the 14h amendment. It was never intended to be that - read the words of those who sponsored and passed it.

When an illegal is pulled over for a driving offence, if he/she cannot produce a driver’s license and proof of insurance, immediately impound the car. Return the car ONLY when a person with a license and insurance AND ownership comes to pick it up.

When an illegal is found and subsequently automatically arrested, deport them forthwith. No “hearings”, no “please come to court” slips, nada. Put ‘em on a bus with armed guards, drive to the nearest border, and dump ‘em on the other side of the line. The only “defence” requiring a hearing or court date should be citizenship or a green card.

So long as the people elected Obummer with his sidekick Holder, you can forget about all your wishes. Not gonna happen. If Hillary or other RAT wins in 2016, count on things getting worse such as blanket amnesty to all illegals.

McCarthy never has to face the wrath of the Texas GOP.

McCarthy will never ever go the way of Cantor. The open primary system means he wont lose.

Cantor and Brat would be on the ballot if it was in California.

Same with McMorris she will probably not lose and always make at least 2nd place.
