GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — A 28-year-old single mother, who has the same name as someone wanted by authorities, has been wrongly arrested twice by a northern Florida sheriff's office.

In January, Ashley Nicole Chiasson spent 28 days in jail after being extradited to Clay County from her home state of Louisiana. She was released after officials realized they had the wrong person.

So these clowns ignored the NFF registry and jeopardized her life, lively hood and property, while depriving her of her liberty?

Unlawfully?

Oooops Looks like Law Enforcement is a little lazy on verifying information. To bad they don’t have a name by the name Larry Satero. =)

I hate to say it but she probably won’t. The same thing has happened to a guy in NY so many times he has a sign on his door just for the cops, plus copies of court docs saying it’s not him. And they keep busting in once or twice a year anyway.

SH[e ought get a court order and post it on her door with the Judge also stating that if the woman is falsely arrested again the arresting officer will spend a month in jail.

New York is not Florida, but anyhow if that were me I’d consider moving.

You really think anything is going to happen? You'll hear "they were just doing their job," and that will be the end of it.

Oops, a settlement is not out of the question:

“In New York this month, a 37-year-old man filed his second lawsuit against the New York Police Department, alleging he was wrongfully arrested twice — even after receiving a $120,000 settlement for an earlier mistaken arrest.”

even after receiving a $120,000 settlement for an earlier mistaken arrest.

You have to wonder where the NY City risk management guys are, and why they are asleep. Because in most companies, after the first settlement, they shock-collar condition the risk management guys and you can't even think about doing something stupid again.

I read somewhere that the cops tend to not hire people who are obviously intelligent because they may become bored with the repetitive nature of their jobs. I guess we are seeing the results of those type policies.
