I wonder if he stole material from Jayson Blair when he worked at the New York Times?

Don’t know if a fellow, last name Glass, is mentioned in this article but there is a fascinating film on how he practically single-handedly brought down The New Republic maybe 10 years ago. Excellent film. Film is “Shattered Glass”.

This is endemic within the Left. They steal, they lie, they make stuff up.

Their conception of reality is radically different from ours, because they are completely opposed to the concept that "the truth shall set you free".

Not only do they lie and make stuff up, they are shameless about it when caught red-handed. They know their leftist butt-buddies, who are as shameless as they are, will cover for them.

It’s like being in the secret tree fort club.

Leftists see lying and deceit as noble endeavors as long as they are advancing “the cause”.

Pretty soon all the plagiarists from the NYT will be able to form their own newspaper.

It’ll be no different than the NYT, of course, but maybe they won’t use a carcinogenic ink.

Their motive is closest to that of a religious fundamentalist.

They do believe their ideology is godlike.

And because of this, their guiding light is that the end justifies the means.

As long as they win, they will be able to defend their actions by stating:

“What difference, as this point, does it make?”

The fact-checker spoke on the phone with Hedges at least three times and exchanged about a dozen e-mails with him. “He was very unhelpful from the beginning, and very aggressive,” said the fact-checker. Hedges repeatedly claimed he had done original reporting. “Hedges reassured me there were no problems,” said Ross. “He then went to the fact-checker and tried to intimidate him and give him a hard time. Hedges told him, ‘Why are you going to the editor?’”

The fact-checker told me, “Not only was the plagiarism more egregious than I had seen before, but it was shocking how unapologetic Hedges was when it was put in his face. He got very heavy-handed about it. He kept claiming that the people quoted in the Katz piece gave him the exact same quotes.”

The author describes himself as a socialist.

Christopher Lynn Hedges was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, the son of a Presbyterian minister, the Rev. Thomas Hedges. He grew up in rural Schoharie County, New York, and graduated from the Loomis Chaffee School, a private boarding school in Windsor, Connecticut, in 1975.

later earned a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School

Hedges is a critic of Israel’s policies towards Palestinians, and was also an early critic of the Iraq War. In May 2003, Hedges delivered a commencement address at Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois, saying: “We are embarking on an occupation that, if history is any guide, will be as damaging to our souls as it will be to our prestige and power and security.”

His newspaper, The New York Times, criticized his statements and issued him a formal reprimand for “public remarks that could undermine public trust in the paper’s impartiality.” Shortly after the incident, Hedges left The New York Times to become a senior fellow at The Nation Institute, and a columnist at Truthdig, in addition to writing books and teaching inmates at a New Jersey correctional institution.

In the 2008 United States presidential campaign, Hedges was a speech writer for candidate Ralph Nader.

In his December 29, 2008, column for Truthdig, Hedges stated that “the inability to articulate a viable socialism has been our gravest mistake. It will ensure, if this does not soon change, a ruthless totalitarian capitalism.” He elaborated upon this in a 2013 interview with The Real News, claiming that “the left has been destroyed, especially the radical left, quite consciously in the whole name of anti-communism,” and that “we have allowed ourselves to embrace an ideology which, at its core, states that all governance is about maximizing corporate profit at the expense of the citizenry. For what do we have structures of government, for what do we have institutions of state, if not to hold up all the citizenry, and especially the most vulnerable?”

On November 3, 2011, Hedges was arrested with others in New York as part of the Occupy Wall Street demonstration, during which Hedges and others staged a “people’s hearing” on the investment bank Goldman Sachs and then blocked the entrance to their corporate headquarters. Hedges has appeared on the syndicated Democracy Now! television program, Breaking the Set on RT, and George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.

In October 2012, Hedges publicly supported Jill Stein, the candidate of the Green Party of the United States, in the 2012 United States presidential election. On April 7, 2013, Hedges delivered the keynote address at the Green Party of New Jersey state convention.

In June 2013, Hedges and numerous celebrities appeared in a video showing support for Chelsea Manning.

Let's not forget another darling of the Left, Doris Kearns Goodwin, 71, biographer, historian and liberal propagandist for noted liberals, most notably for LBJ and members of the Kennedy clan.

She got caught red-handed with numerous occasions of light-fingered lifting from the books of others to lard her own literary tomes.

One author described Kearns as plagiarizing "one-third of my book". She sued....and received a nice out-of-court settlement from the thieving perpetrator-ette, who, by the way, is still lionized in the literati and academia set.....and who is much sought after by TV programs such as Meet the Presstitutes.
