House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spoke about the wave of violence hitting Iraq from Islamic militants, asserting that the United States does not have a responsibility to assist the country with military action.

“I don’t think this is our responsibility, but I do think we were irresponsible for going into Iraq for a variety of other reasons,” she told reporters on Capitol Hill on Thursday.

Pelosi called the violence “troubling” but asserted that there was no American appetite for further military action in the country

'multi-million dollar'

Last I heard, at $750 Million. That would build some serious fencing down on the border.

We beat Japan! It will take a more devistating action to end this one.

On the you-break-it-you-bought-it theory, Iraq became our responsibility once we moved to overthrow their government.

So how many more military lives do we want flushed down the toilet in a useless endeavor? 4,500 killed and more than 32,000 wounded not enough to satisfy us? I know it’s not nearly enough to satisfy that courageous, armchair-Rambo Hannity.

How did Pelosi ever get out of the embarrassment of traipsing around with Assad and then when the Syrian civil war started, Dems called Assad a terrorist that must be defeated. Was she ever even asked about what happened to her relationship/friendship with him??

We lost aircraft loads of American cash on pallets we shipped over there. The VA hospitals here are full of busted, cut up lives with some dying because of a corrupt government here at home.

All this while our govenrment panders to and aids and abets illegal aliens by the millions which are totally choking off our social services, healthcare, jails, hospitals etc...

Americans should be recoiling in total anger.

When ya hear half the country are drooling in cups or asleep, it’s no joke.

We've given them back Iraq, and in the process put millions in harms way. We let them take over Egypt. They will take over Syria. They will take over Libya. We are letting Iran develop a nuclear capability. We release their senior terrorists from Guantanamo in a five for one deal. We let Russia climb back onto the world stage in a threatening manner. While all this is happening, we criticize and essentially threaten Israel. Clearly, the point of our current foreign policy is to weaken ourselves and what we value in the world.

Japan was a success story for both the US and Japan.

WWII ended August, 1945 and we are still there almost 70 years later.

We accomplished great things in Iraq and were on track to transform the country for the better.

Too bad we left before the country was even secured, much less stabilized

Yep. Remember Clinton ignoring Bin-Laden for 8 years, allowing the Taliban and Al-Qaeda to swell their forces, and the second Bush becomes POTUS September 11th happens, and who and what did they blame? Bush - It’s all his fault because he read a book to school kids.

When Saddam was in power, Iraq’s Islamists were suppressed (brutally), and Iraq was a foe of Iran. After we toppled Saddam, the Islamists were free to burn and pillage - more so than ever now, but they’ve been doing so for a decade. A Iraq became an ally of Iran.

And Saddam actually protected Christians from the islamic nutbags who wanted to eradicate them.

Hussein was pretty much a secularist leader in a region of islamic nutbags. He brutally kept the lid on in Iraq, was a counterweight to Iran, and protected Christians.

Overthrowing Hussein is turning out to be one of the most foolish things we have ever done.

Liberal are happy when the US military fails. It confirms their narrative that the US is evil.

If Obama had negotiated a status of forces agreement and we sill had a base in Iraq, this would not be happening.

Protecting the border is not on the progressives' agenda. They would have spent the money on something else - like hiring lawyers for illegals.
