Yes, if the Tea party were a Party we could run conservative candidates in the general election against a few “purple” district RINOs and a wayward (such as McCarthy...heh,heh) conservative district rep or two and counter all of the power of the GOPe, Chamber of Commerce, Senate RINOs and K Street.
And still block the Dems from control of the House.

Would take organization though.

We can toss several bad apples and keep a majority in the house.

Frankly, I'm stunned by this approach. It's ludicrous on its face yet keeps getting repeated here. Our best chance to overcome the GOPe is to get as many conservatives in by primary as possible then win majorities.

It's self-defeating to risk majorities with a strategy of 'weeding out' the bad guys and hoping to hold onto enough seats to still make a difference. If we get conservatives in, things will change. If we put pressure on our own Reps, we can get conservatives in leadership but encouraging people to vote out Republicans is just wrong on so many levels. We've seen what Democratic majorities do and it's frightening.

In my opinion, the real battle should take place after the November midterm elections when the time comes to nominate a new House Speaker and get rid of Boehner. I think House Conservatives are wise their powder dry until then.

Wishful thinking of the highest order.

The evil GOPe sees Conservatives as their blood enemy.

The only way to guarantee that the evil Boehner is NOT the SOTH is to convince as many people in his district as possible to vote for the RAT candidate.

We will keep the House in 2014, losing Boehner's seat would be a victory for Conservatives.

If we had time you would be right. We do not have time.

To borrow your own phrase: “Wishful thinking of the highest order”.

Boehner’s district is safely Republican. There’s no way he loses to a Dem opponent this midterm election cycle. Right now, it’s up to the House conservatives to take a stand and we need to do our part to help them apply the pressure. I’m not denying it’s an uphill battle, but I can’t think of another more realistic way to ouster Boehner from the speakship by 2015.

Heard something on one of early talkstream shows that Henserling is being considered as SOTH.

Henserling may be considering himself for Speaker but he's a long way from the 218 votes he needs to make it happen.
