President Barack Obama has squandered Americas military victory in Iraq, says Rep. Duncan Hunter Jr., California Republican and a former Marine major who served two combat tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
And the squandering of that victory could now lead to wider-than-ever fighting in the Mideast.
We won the war and it was done, Mr. Hunter said. He squandered that military victory for political reasons. This should upset everybody who put a yellow ribbon on their door or put a veterans sticker on their car and everybody who served or had friends or family who served.
Mr. Hunter made his comments Thursday on The Ernest Istook Radio Show on The Washington Times Radio Network.
~snip~
Mr. Hunter was pessimistic that Congress can do anything to remedy the situation, or reassure other nations that they can rely on the U.S. in the future.
I dont think anybody can make this president realize what Americas role in the world should be. Frankly, I think hes minimized Americas role internationally on purpose. This is what he wants, said Mr. Hunter.
I dont think this president gives a damn. Hes turned his back on all our allies. We need a new president
I dont want my son to have to go back to Iraq.

Obummer, the impotent potentate,
doesn`t want to start a foreign war-
he wants to start a domestic war.
(repost from my earlier comment)
“Bush started it
All Bushs fault
Buck stops at Bush and only Bush
....”
BTW, all you peons know he inherited the mess, right?
He is correct
“squandered”???
I think obama has Iraq just where he wanted it to be and is passing out candies as sharia is installed and beheadings are escalated. O is a perverted, sick sob.
He’s right, of course. Anything Zero touches turns to ****.
Here’s the story...
Obama got sandbagged BIGTIME by the Syrian rebels. Obama gave them arms, money and training. They asked for more and more...and they got it. They stockpiled the arms and held back the best fighters, so they could knock down a berm and invade Iraq.
This all is NOT a story because a progressive media darling named John McCain is fully complicit.
Nixon inherited Vietnam from Johnson, but according to RFK (whose brother actually ginned-up the war) McGovern and other liberal doochbags, it was `Nixon’s war’.
Did you know John Frikken Kerry served in Vietnam?
And as we speak, the SOB has not made a decision to intervene.
But the White Hut staff is preparing some really awesome hashtags!
So if we followed Rep. Hunter’s proposal to leave thousands of troops in Iraq then right now they’d be caught in the middle of this civil war. Which means we’d either have to pull them out or send in more. Does Rep. Hunter honestly think that is a good thing?
He needn’t convince me that soebakah is a Treasonous islamist pigdog.
Rep Duncan Hunter is a Marine who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan..
His father is Duncan Hunter former Rep who fought in Nam in the Army..
His Dad’s Dad was a decorated Marine in WWII..
but according to RFK (whose brother actually ginned-up the war) McGovern and other liberal doochbags, it was `Nixons war.

How could Robert Kennedy have said it was Nixon’s war when Kennedy was killed in Aug 1968 and Nixon wasn’t elected until Nov of the year..
When Kennedy died it was still Johnson’s war...
Did you bother to read the article?
He said 5,000 troops for logistics and communications.
Do you really think ISIS would have attacked had we had a president with an ounce of sense regarding foreign policy?
So then we have 5,000 troops for logistics and communications...and a million screaming Muslim fanatics bearing down on them. Now what?
Do you really think ISIS would have attacked had we had a president with an ounce of sense regarding foreign policy?
Yes. This group didn't just spring out of the ground yesterday. They fought the U.S. during the invasion, have been fighting Asad for some time, and now are turning their sights on al-Makiki. It doesn't matter who the president of the Great Satan was, they would have moved anyway.
