Iraq Crisis: US Moves Aircraft Carrier To Persian Gulf As Obama Weighs Military Options By Howard Koplowitz@howardkoplowitz on June 13 2014 12:02 PM

The USS George H.W. Bush is being positioned in the Persian Gulf as President Obama considers airstrikes in Iraq. US Navy

The U.S. aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush is being moved to the Persian Gulf in case President Barack Obama authorizes airstrikes in Iraq, CNN reported Friday.

Iraq is in turmoil after an al Qaeda offshoot, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, made advances this week in the north and north-central portions of the country, including the seizure of Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city.

On Thursday, Obama said he was mulling all options on Iraq, saying, "I don't rule anything out." His spokesman, Jay Carney, later clarified, saying the president is not considering putting troops on the ground.

Obama may lose us an aircraft carrier.

If he does, it won’t be two seconds before the guy tries to mothball the rest.

What are the odds he’s hoping to lose one?

The Iranian Shia's are attempting to prevent a total Suni takeover of Iraq.

The Suni's under Saddam persecuted the Shia. They tried to revolt and requested assistance from George H.W. Bush but he refused to intervene.

The current effort can be considered essentially to regain power lost when Saddam was ousted and hung.

It is to be noted that the Shia Immam revered through history is named Hussein.

Here's his mosque

Sunni's attacked and murdered pilgrams coming to this mosque

There are no military options.
We were there, you did not allow our troops to decimate the enemy and the crap hole country (the way you win wars) you pulled our troops out with another loss that you called victory and now its over. Drones and missiles will not solve anything and just waste money. That cesspool is not worth one more american life. Move on............

All actions mean nothing if “boots on the ground” is not a given. Posturing means nothing to those who know that only lethal force can stop them.

CVN 77 hanging out in the Persian Gulf isn’t news. I assume they are talking about re-situating. Loose lips and all.

Meanwhile Herr Obozo and his Wookie have other important plans!

Amid Foreign and Domestic Crises, Obama Plans to Fundraise and Golf This Weekend

The Iraqi government is pleading for help from the U.S. as ISIS militants close in on Baghdad; Syria is still in the grips of war; veterans are dying from long wait times at the VA; and we’ve got a humanitarian crisis going on at the Southwest border.

With all this at the forefront, you’d think the president would work tirelessly to address these problems. Alas, he’ll be doing what he does best this weekend: fundraising and golfing.

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama should land at Palm Springs International Airport at about 6 p.m. Friday, straight from a visit to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. Saturday, they’ll jump over to Laguna Beach for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, followed by the commencement address to UC Irvine’s Class of 2014 at Angel Stadium, which wraps up at 1 p.m.

That puts the Obamas back in the desert at about 2 p.m. Saturday. They will stay for Father’s Day, before flying home to Washington, D.C., mid-morning on Monday. It’s unclear if their daughters, Malia and Sasha, will tag along.

What is Obama’s plan here in the Coachella Valley? Presumably a short vacation, and likely a round of golf or two – though the details remain fuzzy.

Priorities.

What is your sailor’s first name?

We will put the name in our prayer list this Sunday for our service people.

Are Boehner and Obama actually going to let the military have fuel for these carriers, or are they going to "Sequester" and punish the military more so we can pay for more Food Stamps and give aways to Muslim Brotherhood?

The LAST thing the Saudis want is ISIS on their border and Iran in southern Iraq. They will be both angry and scared.

All of our fleet aircraft carriers are nuclear powered and have been since the decommissioning of the USS John F. Kennedy.
