Rockefeller family member killed in small plane crash near New York City

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The great-grandson of oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller was killed on Friday when his small plane crashed shortly after taking off from an airport north of New York City, a family spokesman and the Federal Aviation Administration said.

Dr. Richard Rockefeller of Falmouth, Maine, was piloting the Piper PA-46 aircraft when it went down about 10 minutes after takeoff from Westchester County Airport in Purchase, 23 miles (37 km) north of New York City, family spokesman Fraser Seitel and the FAA said.

He was the only person on board, according to an FAA statement.

"This is a terrible tragedy. The family is in shock. Richard was a wonderful and cherished family member," Seitel said.

It was unclear what caused the plane to crash as it took off around 8:10 a.m. on a foggy and rainy morning. An investigation was underway, airport officials said.

Rockefeller had flown to New York from Maine on Thursday to have dinner in Westchester County with his father, banker and philanthropist David Rockefeller, who was celebrating his 99th birthday, Seitel said.

"Richard was an experienced pilot, who had flown for many years," Seitel said.

The victims father David Rockefeller was the head of the think tank at CFR, a devout Communist according to his memoirs and Uncle to Senator Jay Rockefeller.

David Rockefeller is part of the reason we have Obama.

It is time to destroy the CFR before they destroy America!

No one becomes a Presidential Candidate without appearing before the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) now.

David Rockefeller is 99 now, so may not be in control, but the damage has been done over the years....a friend to Kissinger the A&&$*le communist in the Kennedy Administration.

I was going to say that there is at least 1 million more deaths to consider before a silver spoon trust baby death....like the local drug addict who lived life in the gutter, probably had more redeeming social qualities...

Flying a Meridian, it's probable, but not necessarily true that he was IFR rated, flying in rain and fog.

(shrug)

I've done worse with less...

http://www.unc.edu/~ltolles/illuminati/cfr.html

The site link you gave is very anti-Israel and not accurate. We did find WMD material in Iraq, and the 550 Metric tons of Yellow cake was sold to Canada, and if you look at my posts you will find links to those articles.

Yes, the CFR has done it...but it’s too late now, we have the global government, and if we could destroy them great, but I don’t think blowing up buildings is the answer.

The original bankers in Illuminati were Jewish, but the Rockefellers are not, as are not most of those now running the global community.

Seems the second most common cause of death for the rich & famous after ODing on drugs is private plane crashes.

"Richard was an experienced pilot, who had flown for many years," Seitel said.

Then he should have known better than to take off in fog and rain. Physics kills.

May he rest in peace, sympathies to his family and friends.

Those crashes are remarkably discriminatory, frequently taking both the good and the bad. There’s a famous saying, “there are old pilots and bold pilots, but no old, bold pilots.”

Know exactly where it happened.

Ridge line with tall trees. Probably didn't miss by too much. In ye olden days at this airport, the problem usually was "deer on the runway."

Good excuse for a 10-foot overhead approach...

The article says he crashed 10 minutes after takeoff. Wouldn’t he be well up in the air by then?

Obviously not high enough! He should have been well above the minimum 800 feet. But if his heading were a bit too far west, that might not have been enough. Who knows?

Let's not rush to judgement. There are many factors that could have gone badly and each will have to be checked out.

Engine coughs, you're over.

Rockefellers! Illuminati! Masons! Zionists! Martians! Chem Trails! 9/11! Birth Certificates! ITS A CONSPIRACY MAN!!!

...Or maybe rich people just like flying around in small aircraft, a statistically dangerous hobby if you do it your whole life.

Beech, Cessna, & Piper make fine high-performance aircraft: turbo-powered, variable-pitch prop, IFR, retractable gear They are known in aviation as “doctor-killers”

“David Rockefeller is part of the reason we have Obama.”

Carter was David Rockefeller’s demonstration to show that anyone could be elected president, with the right backing.
