Sarah Palin Is 'Just About' Ready To Renounce Her Republican Ties
Business Insider ^ | June 13, 2014 | Catherine Thompson

News of poor conditions at a holding center in Arizona for undocumented, unaccompanied minors whipped Sarah Palin into a fury Friday -- so much so that she said she was on the verge of renouncing her ties to the Republican Party.

She then accused President Barack Obama of orchestrating the "crisis" in Arizona in order to advance his own immigration reform agenda.

"In this case, Obama’s refusal to enforce immigration laws and his blatant suggestion that his chosen illegal activity will be rewarded are proof of his tyrannical tactics," Palin wrote.

Why? That seems extreme on your part. Would her reasons matter?

FYI, I’m not trying to pick a fight, I’m just curious. I might be disappointed if she did that, depending on the why, but I would likely still support her.

concerning “immigration” what exactly needs to be “reformed” ?

first of all let’s call this mess what it really is - an INVASION !

nothing is broken and nothing needs to be “reformed”.

we need a federal govt that will be made to enforce our current laws and once and for all secure the damn border - with troops until we get control of this mess.

If she decides to do it, I believe she’ll be following a few folks that have done so in principle, if not already done so publically...

Since there is no formal association that is organized into a functional (and electable) political apparatus (maybe that is a good thing at this point)...

A defection of elected republicans (maybe even a few democrats) that might drop their party affiliation, might occur, if they had something tangible to jump to, and that had to be caucused with, and dealt with, in the conventional (political) sense...

So if that movement were to spawn this political organization, and force a clear definition of the left, the moderates, and the “new” (more conservative) right...Then yes, this would be the best thing I can think of for this country...

It would remove a lot of ambiguity from political definitions, and not allow the liberal narratives to bog down definitive positions with political moderation (fecklessness)...

The republican party might even well become the weakest political link in the chain, and might very well be forced to collaborate with the “new”, clearly defined conservative party...

But I am absolutely positive that there are some people who believe the world revolves around the republican party anyway...They can have it...

LOL, what the heck was that personal attack about?

Let’s try again.

To: cdcdawg
Palin would not leave unless it serves as the start of a movement, she isn’t thinking of just quietly leaving the GOP like Mitt Romney did in 1979 because of Reagan.

I don’t know what hidden messages you saw in that post, or what kind of guilt or shame you carry around or why you cue on a mention of Romney, but I have no idea who you are, it was a very simple post.

The point was to assuage the obvious concern you kept expressing about Palin, in posts 6 and post 19, that’s all.

Palin won’t ever just ‘leave’ the GOP, she would only leave to start an effective movement.

Fair enough, and I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t thought the same thing. Is it time to break away? The reason I ask is that it actually seems like some progress is possible in the old wineskin of the GOP. Cantor getting creamed, Cochran probably getting the same, possible pickups elsewhere. I don’t know. It’s the same conundrum I have as a member of a mainline Protestant church. Why do we have to leave? Why can’t we make them leave? They’re wrong.

I think Palin said that in order to gauge her influence by the reaction to it. If so, that’s very shrewd. She’s not doing anything until after these mid-terms.

just a coincidence,,,,,

Well, there have always been a few kids involved with border crossings but then the number jumped to 1000 in just two weeks.

The timing is pretty incredible...

The State Department announced on May 7 that jk was going to Mexico.

check the dates on this...http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2014/05/225717.htm

That is to the day when this started...http://edition.cnn.com/2014/05/19/us/mexico-border-children/

“”In the past two weeks, more than 1,000 children were apprehended while illegally crossing the border, “

May 21, 2014 — Updated 1314 GMT (2114 HKT)

Two weeks before May 27 is when State Department announced jk was going.

the timing is unmistakable..and unavoidable

there are no coincidences!

I sense that push is inching up on shove at an ever increasing pace.

It was a compliment. I strongly believe that you can win an argument against the average Romney supporter. Why did you cue on Romney in a thread about Sarah Palin. That is weird.

I’d bet that McCain has told her he won’t be running again. That frees her up to leave the gop. No matter what the reason, I’m all for her leading a third party.

We just had a presidential election, and the GOP nominee, a current party opponent of Palin did actually leave the GOP.

With your concerns about the effect on Palin leaving the GOP, mentioning Mitt Romney having left it was perfectly natural and suitable.

What is not natural and suitable is you getting angry and defensive about Mitt Romney, you got angry and lashed out, for what, what am I missing here?

“Is it time to break away?”

I’ve never been a member of the gop, so I’m probably not the best person to ask. I support their very few good candidates from time to time and have voted in Virginia open primaries when appropriate but that’s about it. If there isn’t a good (read conservative) candidate running, I no longer show up for primaries or general elections.

From my perspective there is little if any difference between the gop and rats in the way they govern. I usually refer to the gop and rats as collaborating factions In a uniparty. So I really have a hard time grasping the affection that people seem to feel for either faction. To me it’s kind of like having a preference for one criminal gang over the other: MS 13 is just so much better than the crips!

I do not see meaningful progress as being possible in either faction. Old wineskin? We’re talking decayed and rotted wine skins. While I was personally delighted to see the weasel get the bums rush, the thing to remember is that for every time something like that happens, 20 other uniparty hacks win their seat. It’s a battle of attrition and we’re not winning it.

I realize that I paint a very dark picture. But I think it’s largely accurate. And strange as it may be, seeing things as they are versus how you wish they were opens up a lot of doors.

DON'T DO IT, SARAH!

It would be catastrophic to our country, not to mention downright stupid.

I really question her political mental thought processes here....not to mention WTF?

Just when there's a perfect storm starting to envelop the Demoncrat party in so many different ways that I'm not even going to list them here...like recent Tea Party victories, like good prospects for upcoming Tea Party victories, like the Long March of the Illegal Alien Children, like the situation in Iraq, like the ongoing scandals of Benghazi, Bergdahl, IRS, VA, F & F, like the economy tanking, gas prices going to go way up, like LernerGate evidence tampering, plus new travesties being revealed every day......no, I'm NOT going to list anything.....well, I guess I just did. Hmmm.

In short, with all of these "bad-news-for-dems" headlines swirling about practically hourly, why is Palin inserting herself on the front pages NOW with this divisive, diversionary, inane and ILL-TIMED hints at GOP desertion????

Sheesh! I've had enough of desertion accounts for a while.

Romney wasn’t a political player when he left the GOP in 1979. He was the son of one, but nothing at all comparable to what Palin currently is. The two situations couldn’t be more different. Palin can actually move poll numbers by showing up in a state. Romney couldn’t even do that as a Presidential candidate. There is no connection. What is your odd fascination with making one? It just isn’t there.

“What is not natural and suitable is you getting angry and defensive about Mitt Romney, you got angry and lashed out, for what, what am I missing here?”

I think you are missing a few sandwiches from your picnic basket. There is no anger or defensiveness about Romney, he’s just not relevant to this discussion. This is about Sarah Palin possibly leaving the GOP. Romney is not involved with that in any direct way. Now, if your point is that people like Romney have taken over the GOP, leaving Palin no choice but to leave, that would be a salient point, but you didn’t say that.

You do paint a dark picture, and I’m not convinced you are wrong. It might be that bad, or worse. The bright spot is that Cantor’s defeat shows that progress is possible, because people came out to vote for an alternative. Let’s hope there’s a wave of that.

Evidently I hit some sore spot with you when I mentioned our most prominent current GOP member who has left the party.

Now you want to turn the thread into you demanding why someone dared mention Romney on this thread.

I mentioned the most powerful GOPe republican in America, who was just the party’s presidential candidate and who may run again, who is struggling to be the party’s kingmaker, and who has actually left the GOP for the EXACT opposite reason that Palin is considering it.

Romney left because it was becoming too conservative, and Palin is threatening to leave because it is becoming too romneyized.

At first on this thread you were concerned about Palin, now you are freaking out about a single sentence post that tied in Palin considering leaving, with a Palin peer who has actually has done it.

Palin is asserting pressure at just the right moment.

In view of the GOP war against conservatives and the tea party, and the current bloodletting in these primaries, she is reminding the Romney wing of the GOP that if they don’t compromise with us some and play nicer, that we can kill them off entirely.

"She (Palin) is reminding the Romney wing of the the GOP that if they don't compromise with us some and play nice, that we CAN KILL THEM OFF ENTIRELY"

...and kill ourselves off at the same time?....now that makes sense! Nice strategery, indeed!

We don't need intramural useless veiled threats right now when we're riding a higher tide for change both within the GOP and in the electorate than we've seen in decades.

And there's still plenty of time to keep up pressure (the right kind) before the election if we don't live in the past.

...and Romney is so yesterday. Nobody is buying his uncooked oatmeal this time around. Keep your eye on the prize by sticking with the present, the future....and reality.
