So the writer was not surprised that many of the early primaries that had national exposure of TEA party candidates, came up losing more than won?

I doubt Cantor's loss had much to do with a political party that doesn't exist as opposed to the political party that does exist where it's elitist establishment hates, loathes, and despises any form of conservatism, especially the figurehead of that conservatism, Ronald Reagan.

Best thing that could happen to the Republican party is that it be moved from Washington DC to some small backwater town in flyover country so the boys in charge can stay in touch with those who want to support them but have a difficult time doing so when they are nothing more than an arm of the Democrat party and give us Democrat-lite candidates.
