Sensible Gun Control

Posted on 06/14/2014 4:43:19 PM PDT by dvan

In 1865 a Democrat shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States.

In 1881 a left wing radical Democrat shot James Garfield, President of the United States  who later died from the wound.

In 1963 a radical left wing socialist shot and killed John F. Kennedy, President of the United States.

In 1975 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at Gerald Ford, President of the United States.

In 1983 a registered Democrat shot and wounded Ronald Reagan, President of the United States.

In 1984 James Hubert, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 22 people in a McDonalds restaurant.

In 1986 Patrick Sherrill, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 15 people in an Oklahoma post office.

In 1990 James Pough, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 10 people at a GMAC office.

In 1991 George Hennard, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 23 people in a Luby's cafeteria in Killeen, TX.

In 1995 James Daniel Simpson, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 5 coworkers in a Texas laboratory.
In 1999 Larry Asbrook, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 8 people at a church service.

In 2001 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at the White House in a failed attempt to kill George W. Bush, President of the US.

In 2003 Douglas Williams, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 7 people at a Lockheed Martin plant.

In 2007 a registered Democrat named Seung - Hui Cho, shot and killed 32 people in Virginia Tech.

In 2010 a mentally ill registered Democrat named Jared Lee Loughner, shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed 6 others.

In 2011 a registered Democrat named James Holmes, went into a movie theater and shot and killed 12 people.

In 2012 Andrew Engeldinger, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 7 people in Minneapolis.

In 2013 a registered Democrat named Adam Lanza, shot and killed 26 people in a school in Newtown, CT.

As recently as Sept 2013, an angry Democrat shot 12 at a Navy ship yard. One could go on, but you get the point, even if the media does not. Guns don’t kill people. Democrats kill people!

Clearly, there is a problem with Democrats and guns.  Not one NRA member, Tea Party member, or Republican conservative was involved in any of these shootings and murders.

SOLUTION:  It should be illegal for Democrats to own guns.

Because 30,000 gun laws are never enough.

I’ve long believed that the democrats need to control everything stems from their instinctive realization that they can’t control themselves.

We need them to sign a legally binding pledge that they will never buy or own a firearm for the rest of their lives. Call it an anti gun registry.

After all, the DemocRAT Party is the Party of Death. They’ve murdered millions of human beings who were only trying to be born. The first step towards becoming an adult is to be an “embryo”. They used to teach this in school before the Party of Death took over our schools.

That statement is 100% correct.

Gun control means using both hands.

Gun control means hitting what you’re aiming at.

In 1914 a radical leftwing socialist (aka democrat) shot Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife touching off WWI.

Have long argued that our nation has the constitution it has only because it was guaranteed that our right to bear arms would not be infringed.

Thus, the only logical and sensible form of “gun control” is very stiff penalties for those that abuse that right; i.e., any crime involving use of a firearm. Leave the rest of us out of it.

To me, sensible gun control would be putting on everyone’s driver’s license whether or not they are allowed to own a gun. The investigation is done once, instead of every time you buy a weapon. There would be stiff penalties for possessing a weapon, for selling a weapon to someone without the requisite license stamp, or for using a license that isn’t yours to purchase a weapon. States should be able to easily correlate changing circumstances (e.g., someone commits a felony) and reissue the correct driver’s license, and track felonious use of a cancelled license.

” In 1865 a Democrat shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States”

John Wilkes Boothe had belonged to the Know Nothing Party.

The message is clear and simple.

No democrat should be allowed to have a gun.

All conservatives should be fully armed at all times to protect themselves should some dim dem happen to acquire one

Excellent list.

The Left wants to kill. The Left wants to take guns away from the Right.

SOLUTION: It should be illegal for Democrats to own guns.

I know you're being cute dvan, but you have a point. Our prisons are filled with violent democrats... most gang bangers are democrats, school killers are children of democrats... So you might have a valid point.

In my city, there are about 50 murders a year. If we could keep guns out of the hands of democrats, there would be no murders here.

If we could keep guns out of the hands of democrats, there would be practically no crime!

I would stick out a limb and say that 99.9% of shootings/murders in chicago over the last 5 years are not only exclusively democrats, but also exclusively obama voters.

Dear dvan,
It is obvious you have no true concept, of the blood bought idea, of freedom.

Adding more information control, via each state adding a “Constitutional right”, and turning it to a
“permissible act”, is a Communist idea.

Instead of labeling folks, as Democrats AND
Republicans enjoy doing, let us Americans,
exercise our Divine right of self preservation,
and shoot back at every perpetrator, who
uses a firearm in the enactment of crime.

That would ensure that “equal opportunity”
is bestowed upon all perpetrators.

Remember, Republicans under Bush enacted
The Military Commissions Act, declaring all
Americans “suspects of terror”.

Lastly, examine how most gun laws exclude
revolvers.

As firearms instructor Clint Smith said,
“I would rather shoot six shots well,
than thirteen not so well.”

“same thing, essentially”

Not exactly. After 1854 the Know Nothings changed their name to the American Party. The American Party eventually split into two camps, the anti slavery faction becoming part of the newly formed Republican Party and the pro slavery faction joining the Constitutional Union Party.

Not every aspect of American history fits into the neat and tidy Republican-Democrat divide that has achieved the status of myth around here all too often.

Ronald Reagan was shot on March 30, 1981, not 1983..

Adam Lanza...
Seung - Hui Cho....

Registered Democrats....?

I've looked for the last hour and cannot find an reliable source for this.

These two were nuttier than a Babe Ruth bar from the get-go, I seriously doubt politics were high on their agenda.

"In 1865 a Democrat shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States. "
"In 1881 a left wing radical Democrat shot James Garfield, President of the United States who later died from the wound."
"In 1963 a radical left wing socialist shot and killed John F. Kennedy, President of the United States."

What, too busy to type "John Wilkes Boothe", "Charles J. Guiteau", "Lee Harvey Oswald"?

Too busy to get things correct, apparently.

BTW, Guiteau, was a supporter of Republicans in general and Grant and Garfield in particular and so delusional, believed himself to be largely responsible for Garfield's victory.

The only clear thing connecting most of these people they were Bats@#$@ crazy.

This is the Right's version of the "Everytown for Gun Safety"

Which I also criticized for it's sloppy research so don't accuse me of being a shill for gun control.

I believe in the Second Amendment too much and before I put out any information with my name and reputation attached(and Free Republic's as well) I do a little research to see how valid it is.

Evidently, so did the author of the piece.

This doesn't pass the smell test....
