IMO, this jerk is making his case for asylum via weird claims which are falling in line with stereotypes about Russia.
HIV is there for quite a long time, it is certainly out of ‘risk groups’ for decades and doctors knows how to treat these patients safely.
I think a very large part of elite Western animus to Russia is because they can not sell homo dominance over there.
It does sound weird because HIV is a general venereal disease as well and they are scarcely Puritan about that there.
