HATTIESBURG, Mississippi — A new poll from WPA Research shows conservative Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel has shot up to an eight-point lead, outside the margin of error, over Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) a little over a week from the runoff election.
The poll of 500 likely GOP primary runoff voters has McDaniel leading Cochran 49 percent to 41 percent, with 10 percent undecided. McDaniel beat Cochran in the primary about two weeks ago, getting 1,300 more votes. The poll was conducted June 9 to June 10 and has a margin of error of 4.4 percent.
Now, heading into the runoff, WPA Opinion Research’s Ryan Steusloff wrote in a memo to interested parties about the new Mississippi polling days, “It is clear Chris McDaniel is well positioned to win on June 24th.”

Too bad someone of McDaniel’s ilk didn’t rise to the top in SC to challenge Grahamnesty.
I’d be happier with a larger sample size. I think for a state of 3 million, a 4% MOE, and a 95% confidence level you’d need 6 or 7 hundred in your sample size. This one has 500, and even in the article it says something about an 8 point lead being outside the MOE. That means they must have a fairly large MOE, never a good thing.
This poll was taken before Cochran’s admission of doing “indecent things with animals.”
If McDaniel was up by 8 points then, he’s got to be up by 15 now.
The fact that McConnell, Barbour, and Rove are still going forward waging a lost battle against McDaniel is proof enough of why they need to be flushed out of the GOP. They should be rallying to the inevitable nominee, not trying to tear him down. They’re only hurting the party at this point.
Someone should ask Thad to comment on the situation in Iraq, and see if he says something about having full confidence in President Bush’s handling of the situation.
But the Tea Party is dead. Didn’t anyone get the memo?

So now that McDaniel is a shoe in, you guys come rolling in to claim victory and raise more money off the Tea Party movement.
So what is Tea Party Express doing in tough races that need attention and support, where you could actually be having a real and positive impact?
What are you doing for Joe Carr in Tennessee? Jack squat, that’s what.
How about Milton Wolf? The Tea Party Express bus should be rolling through Kansas blasting Rainbow’s “Run With The Wolf” (Ronnie James Dio would have approved.)
But will the Tea Party Express doing any of that, or just raise money off of these races and then show up only after the Tea Party candidate has the wind at his back?

Tea Party Express endorsed Iowa’s Joni Ernst the day before the primary, when the outcome was pretty well known. Such courage!

So uninformed, TPX had a tour in April this year and Dr. Wolf spoke at more than one Tea Party at which the TPX tour was instrumental in bringing out a bunch of people.
Milton Wolf is dynamic Tea Party Conservative and he took us by his house to show he had one. His opponent finally rented out a room in the state after he got called on not even living in the state he has been representing for MUCH too long!
Seems little Sammie didn’t have a clue about what the TPX has been doing.
Not to mention his buddy who posted after him with his girlie little laugh.
