She doesn’t need excommunication.. she needs an exorcism.

The future we inherit is constructed of small defining moments. The future of the church will be a result of the deciding moment when the SF Bishop gives his answer...which should mention excommunication. If he caves to her, then Pelosi becomes the defacto leader of the church there. When a Catholic seeks council, s/he will turn to Pelosi instead of the church. Wanna’ bet how he handles it?

Arrogance. Nancy is a powerful government figure. She demands that the Church should fall in line with her (Nancy's) teachings and precepts.

Meanwhile, we little people must bow down and pay reverence to Queen Nancy.

How many divisions does the Pope have?

Certainly a case can and should be made for latæ excommunication.

Under what canon?

The definition of heresy is EXTREMELY narrow. The one time I can think of that she broached it, she was resoundingly slapped down by multiple bishops...and hasn't repeated that kind of statement since.

The abortion canon requires the person to actually have an abortion or "procure" an abortion (e.g., perform it or pay for it).

Those are the only two that apply to latæ sententiæ excommunications. The ones I cited above require a trial (i.e., ferendæ sententiæ).

Canon 915 definitely applies. But Canon 915 is not the juridical punishment of excommunication (of course, we will leave aside the fact that the Archbishop of Washington won't even go that far, but that's a different issue altogether).

"Pelosi, who called the event “venom masquerading as virtue,..."

Pelosi is an expert on "venom masquerading as virtue", because that's what she does all the time.

Now, Pelosi is attacking at least 3 parts of the First Amendment; freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of religion. Kudos, hat trick for Nancy.

Looks as though Pelosi is in charge of the SF Catholic hierarchy. She is calling the shots.

IRS 501-C3 church tax-exempt status ...
or, as restated in an old proverb ...

Nancy Pelosi simply THREATENS San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone that with a FULL IRS 501-C3 audit ...

Nancy Pelopsi knows that she OWNS San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone.

Lots of discussion on this thread about excommunicating her. I became a Catholic in ‘98 and this is one of the things I see wrong witht the Church. That the do not excommunicate people like this. I do not know if the Church has blinders on or secretly sympathize with those like Pelosi, but they do not seem to realize that - in my opinion - one of the reasons that people leave the Church and other Christians has disdain for the Church - is because people see this and see that the Church does nothing. If the Church cannot defend their beliefs and scripture by getting rid of those who cause disruptions in the rank and file, than what good is the Word?

BTTT! And that's in her public life as an elected Representative sworn to defend the Constitution. Impeachable offense.

As regards to her private nominally 'catholic' faith life ...

If she very publicly demonstrates that she is a reprobate ... you must excommunicate!

Homosexuals are Christ’s “winnowing fork”,

being used to separate the wheat from the chaff.

What’ll it be, Bishop?

By and large the Catholic Church’s leadership is to the left of Marx. So I would look for them to fold for Nancy, if they were serious they would throw the witch out of the church same with all democrat/fascists

The issue is not excommunication.

The issue is that giving Communion to Pelosi and other pro-aborts IS A MORTAL SIN.

All but about fifteen American bishops are walking around in the state of mortal sin.

The American bishops have been little but saboteurs when it comes to the pro-life movement. The reason is simple: Some are pro-abortion, like Bernardin. Some are blackmailable, because of their personal depravity, like Wuerl. Some are morons, like Dolan and O’Malley. Almost all are Democrats from the cradle.

Excommunication is a dead letter. Calling for it is barking up an empty tree.

The issue is that giving Communion to Pelosi and people like her IS A MORTAL SIN.

The OFFICIAL policy of the USCCB is that this mortal sin is a “legitimate” option for a bishop. (Catholics in Political Life)

The Mormons are equally guilty in the person of Dingy Harry. By the rules, ol' Harry should have been excommunicated long ago. He's a crook, he's a liar, he uses his office for personal gain, ad nauseum.

I’m not a canon lawyer but I think giving public scandal is cause for excommunication. Advocating abortion, in direct opposition to Catholic teaching, is as much a sin as actually having an abortion.

FYI

Nancy has excommunicated herself from the Catholic Church by supporting abortion, same-sex marriage, etc.
