U.S. Navy ship with 550 Marines on board entering Gulf: CNN

The USS Mesa Verde with 550 Marines on board entered the Gulf on Monday to support possible U.S. action to help Iraq's Shi'ite-led government combat a Sunni Islamist insurgency that has overtaken large areas of the country's north, CNN reported. The USS Mesa Verde joins the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush, which the Pentagon ordered on Saturday to move into the Gulf. President Barack Obama has said he is considering military action, short of putting U.S. troops in Iraq, to aid that government's efforts to stop the insurgency.

Obama does not have the intellect to know he is disgraced and should resign. Leave governing to Americans with some principles.

Just wondering which country has to fall before Americans declare “enough!” and Congress decides to haul his sorry ass out of there, Kuwait? Saudi Arabia? France?

they would make 0bama OWN this collapse.

The media is already pushing hard that all of this is Bush's fault for invading Iraq in the first place.

I keep commenting back to these media meme's that the sectarian violence has been going on in the middle east for centuries and isn't about to stop anytime soon.

Oddly, I happen to agree to let them kill each other in a mass Islamic blood bath. Let them set-up their precious Caliphate (prophesied) and then we can at least have a clearly defined enemy in several years and 0bama will be out of office by then.

Election 2016...here we come and I pray it will be with the wisdom and grace of God.

If you believe in “prophesies,” Obama will finish his term. And if all of this is fulfilling prophesy, then recall we are not to be disturbed by today’s events...for they must come to pass as our redemption draws nigh.

They have some neat footage: USS Midway, click on the different links on the right side as you look at the computer.

Hubby was up on observation deck watching. That small plane hangs in the Naval Museum in Pensacola.

The question is how many people can fit in a helicopter, how long does it take round-trip, and how many people are on the ground waiting to be rescued.

If Saudi Arabia is faced with Iran on their northern border, they will ask Obama for US involvement and they will get it.

I say we abandon it, but I don't think Iran will tolerate a permanent ISIS presence in Baghdad.

The way it is headed, according to reports yesterday from an ex-Iraqi general, is Baghdad will be divided by the river that runs through it. East side Shiite and west side Sunni. Once those positions are established, the bombing and artillery battles will more or less leave the city in ruins.

Do we just abandon it, let ISIS use it as their seat of power, or blow it up?

It's why the Tomahawks are there. They have little other use than blowing up fixed targets like the embassy.

Pursuing the idea that Baghdad will be a useless heap of rubble, it looks like ISIS will be able to consolidate in Mosul; Iran will be taking over the Shiite majority south. Then comes (1) confrontation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and (2) ISIS v. Assad part two. What a mess.

"Breaking : U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says U.S. drone strikes “may well be” an option to tackle ‘Isis’ militants in Iraq."

---------------------------->

Wonder if Kerry watches "24" - which comes on tonight!

US and Jack Bauer had big time problems with drones.

I trust Jack Bauer more than ANYONE in B. Hussein O. administration. Maybe writers for '24' should write out the scenario for Iraq/Iran/ISIS.

Hussein and his admin. can't seem to figure it out.

"Is Obama a Shiite or a Sunni?"

------------------------------------->

Depends on what the most expedient is at the moment.

He's "bi"...he can be Shiite or Sunni ... - he kind of swings like that.

Thousands. Takes about a week to evacuate them all in dangerous situations. In all out war, which is coming, just about impossible to get them all out.

That is one component of a normal Marine Corps Med Cruse. There is always a Battalion Landing Team on station in the Mediterranean.

I have often wondered why the Marine Corps BLT was not used at Benghazi. They had to be on station in the Mediterranean, they always are.

They aren’t there to fight, they are likely there to help Americans flee.
