The U.S. may have violated international treaties in the way it has handled thousands of child immigrants being detained in facilities across the country, the Honduran ambassador to the U.S. is claiming.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection have scrambled to handle a surge of tens of thousands of Unaccompanied Children, or UACs, who come mostly from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico.
Instead of being immediately returned to their home countries after being apprehended, U.S. immigration policy requires the UACs to be housed in federal facilities while they are awaiting deportation proceedings.
But Honduras ambassador to the U.S. takes issue with the process, saying that deportation may violate international treaties.
By order of the president, we are doing an in-depth study at the Embassy and the Foreign Ministry of this issue [of deportation], said the ambassador, Jorge Milla Reyes, according to a Reuters article, which was translated from Spanish.
We have serious doubts about the possibility of violation of some norms reflected in international treaties, said Reyes without specifying which international treaties the U.S. may have violated.

Obama is a stupid as a lemming, but his handlers are political chess players. They knew this was the case and backed us into a corner.
Now America either goes the way of Rome (quicker) or is seen as an international pariah for sending “children” back to their home countries.
This is a no-win for real Americans.
“Honduras ambassador to the U.S. takes issue with the process, saying that deportation may violate international treaties”.
Hey Jorge! How about releasing the American crew of the R/V Aqua-Quest that your holding in Honduras for having a couple firearms aboard for their protection.
I take issue with your country holding these American’s in deplorable conditions on trumpted up charges.
This guy is an a$$, He has some nerve to blame the US when it is HIS people who are violating our laws, both kids and adults. Sure the kids have a right to be with their parents — in their own country, not here unless here legally. I’m getting sick and tired of these idiots from countries whose citizens are violating our laws, telling us what we should/can and shouldn’t/cannot do.
Honduras still holding American boat crew:
It seems only natural that the Honduran government, after dumping its undesirables into the US, would not want them shipped back ...
Where are the state guards? AZ? TX?
B freeking S!
They are not refugees or anything else that falls under the purview of LEGAL!
FUBO & FAD
If all of what has been going on at the hand of the kenyan and the democrat party does not constitute a 1776 moment then what the F*** does?
If you hadn’t noticed, we are already ann international pariah.
Anyway, who cares?
F*** the internation treaty! GET THOSE DAMN BORDER JUMPING KIDS OUT OF ARIZONA AND BACK TO THEIR IRRESPONSIBLE, DUMBASS PARENTS!
This is unacceptable!
That’s right. To hell with federal and state laws, not to mention the US Constitution. We need to worry about some international treaty. Un freaking believable.
Am I reading this right?
It appears the AMB is saying we should have immediately sent the illegals back
That is the violation he is mentioning, I think
What a great idea
let’s do it NOW
That is rich from a government that does not give a damn about children from native and mestizo households.
That sounds like a fine solution-bring them up as Americans-with loyalty, values and a work ethic. I know hard-working conservatives who would love to adopt a child, but do not have the extortionate amounts of cash that mothers and many adoption agencies demand-and many of us in this area of Texas are bilingual, too-no need for outside English classes.
“or is seen as an international pariah for sending children back to their home countries.”
That doesn’t make any sense. How is it bad in anything but the Obama sense, for people to be in their own countries?
That said, If countries want to make us a pariah I don’t see that as anything but good anyway. It means we have another reason to cut aid to them once Barry leaves or is forced out.
Dear Ambassador Reyes,
Deporting them is preferable to euthanizing them; which do you prefer?
They are not “deporting” the children, they are simply “repatriating” them with their families back in Central America.
