here is the plan Rick, you big windbag wussy, put every available law enforcement officer you can spare on the border DPS,game wardens, etc., put the texas state guard on the border, put the damn TABC on the border, I don’t care ...and stop them from crossing over .... and if the feds stir up trouble have the county sheriff throw them in the local jail....

Unfortunately, these petitions are a sounding board and not much else.
He always could. But he WANTS ILLEGALS AS MUCH AS THE DEMOCRATS.

My understanding is that Rick Perry has repeatedly put the Texas Rangers on the border even to the point of them getting into some altercations with the border patrol because they were trying to police the area.
The Border Patrol has essentially been ordered to step down or they set up 20 or more miles inside the border and no at the border where illegals can be interdicted.
Rick Perry is like any other border start governor he only has so much in resources to use.
I don’t see Jan Brewer doing a thing on the AZ border.

All he has to do is call the reserves and the voulenteers do it on their own under his authority and control of the active Guard.
And there are no shortages of willing reserves.
Which is why he won’t. It would end the problem.

What about the other states with a border with Mexico, or for that matter what about a state with a border with Texas, etc. Is there NO state Govenor that will secure their States borders. I would love to see road blocks to check cars. I used to have to stop on the interstate when going from San Diego to Orange County for Illegal checks. Loved the “Watch out for Illegals Crossing” signs that showed a man, woman, and a kid flying in the breeze.

No Norm if Perry does that then he immediately has the AG of The Criminal States of America dragging him into court and a Federal Judge issuing an injunction on him to cease and desist. They did the same thing to Jan Brewer over the AZ state immigration law. Its a no win situation unless the Governor is willing to go toe to toe with Eric and Barry.
So far no governor has had the stones so lets not crucify Perry for it.

I am in AZ. Brewer is a liberal and a complete fraud. She has always makes right wing noises and then gives Obama/the libs everything he/they want.
This is why electing principled people matters. Because this is what you get with RINO lesser evil voting. Proof positive actions have consequences.
YES GG as it is authority and JOB to protect the state. And sometimes you gotta fight. It aint a free ride.
There’s a lot of conservative “lip” in Texas especially during election years, but will there be strong in the federal government’s face action.
A session to play with people’s emotions about immigration with symbolic resolutions and votes would be nothing more than election year politics.
All part of the plan.
I think they should all be fighting but lets don’t make out like Perry is doing something any less than the rest of the border governors. In fact he’s done more than most. If you are going to criticize then include Brewer and Martinez.

Marinez doesn’t have a fraction of the TX/AZ problem and still she is no better. Typical RINO governing.
Reality, however, says he is a rank opportunist who panders to whatever group he can in his never ending quest to fool the gullible into believing he is not the pro-ILLEGAL alien, nanny-state, establishment Republican turd that his record proves him to be.
If I have any faith in Perry at all it is that sooner or later he will reveal his true colors. From his support of Hillarycare, to his support of financial aid and instate tuition for ILLEGAL aliens, to his calling real conservatives heartless, to his attempt to keep Ted Cruz out of Washington, to his endorsement of RINO Mitch McConnell, to his praising of Hillary as a, “very, very capable public servant, great secretary of state, first lady”, Rick Perry never fails to reveal his true self.
And a sharp dresser in Electric cars too.

and the thing is ...Perry has spent the last 4 years running around squawking about state’s rights....anyone remember his little comment about secession he got crucified for? ..
“There’s a lot of different scenarios,” Perry said. “We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we’re a pretty independent lot to boot.” ....
now when a state needs to assert itself with something as essential as stopping an illegal invasion....not a peep.....
