General Motors Co., in the latest recall related to ignition-switch flaws, is calling back about 3.2 million more vehicles and said recall-related charges would reach $700 million in the second quarter.

Government Motors strikes again

Are all of those ignition switches the ones that mount under the dash, atop the steering column, and are operated via pushrods from the key "switch"?

I've had to replace three of those for reasons of simply not working -- to stopping in an "OFF" position that actually drains the battery.

For security, (difficult to "hotwire") the idea makes sense. But GM has been making the things since (at least) the 80's. You'd think they would figure out how to get them right by now...
