The Collapsing Obama Doctrine
Wall Street Journal ^ | 6/17/14 | Dick and Liz Cheney

Cheney re Obama: Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many.

As the terrorists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) threaten Baghdad, thousands of slaughtered Iraqis in their wake, it is worth recalling a few of President Obama's past statements about ISIS and al Qaeda. "If a J.V. team puts on Lakers' uniforms that doesn't make them Kobe Bryant" (January 2014). "[C]ore al Qaeda is on its heels, has been decimated" (August 2013). "So, let there be no doubt: The tide of war is receding" (September 2011).

Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many. Too many times to count, Mr. Obama has told us he is "ending" the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan—as though wishing made it so. His rhetoric has now come crashing into reality. Watching the black-clad ISIS jihadists take territory once secured by American blood is final proof, if any were needed, that America's enemies are not "decimated." They are emboldened and on the march.

VP Cheney has about 5000 X the understanding around how to run a government versus the Kenyan punk in the WH. Refreshing to get a plausible explanation of what is going on this complex situation, versus the dart board diplomacy presently being employed by the amateurs there now.

Unmitigated disaster! We will be paying for many decades to come for the willful acts of the Obama Administrator empowering our enemy’s around the world. While waging war upon our values at home.

If America’s end it coming Obama seems almost intent to do everything he can to bring about that end, from the decimation of our virtues(economic and religious freedom) to the willful empowerment of our enemy’s around the world to heights many of them have never seen.

Obama articulated the Obama Doctrine early in the 2008 campaign; when asked a foreign-policy question, he replied:

“Why can’t I just eat my waffle?”

“Should Bush be speaking up? I believe so. If he does it all the time, it really does open the door to past presidents simply neutering good presidents when they come along.”

Do you honestly believe Obama would keep silent after his presidency?

Obama will be bashing future non-democratic president left and right, just like Jimmy Carter. “The Rules don’t apply to him”, they never do to self-absorbed leftist.

Bush saves nothing by not speaking out. Its like us not attacking north Vietnam because of fears of the north invading the south with all it has at its disposal.

Well we ARE losing this ‘police action’.

Only our guys honor the “past presidents don’t criticize current presidents” rule. Carter is always mouthing off. Clinton too. And you can just imagine what Obama will be like when he’s out of office.

To end hostilities requires both parties.
Unilaterally deciding the war is over is called Surrender.

The foreign policy (not to mention domestic policy) of the past five years will lead to the suffering and death of many, including Americans. This is blood on the hands of a whole lot of liberals - including those in the MSM who didn’t ask the hard questions.

Despite all of Obama’s anti-American policies that are currently destroying our nation, I have it on good authority from those oh, so, intelligent FReepers that Romney would’ve been just as bad as Obama...maybe even worse! /sarc

Here’s a fact: we have reached the point of no return under Obama’s destructive policies and scandals. The damage has been done. A nation doesn’t recover from such a catastrophic “fundamental transformation.”

Elections truly do have monumental consequences.

No, he's not a joke. He's a sworn enemy of the United States of America. There is NO OTHER plausible explanation.

Mr. Cheney can see the big geo-political picture and understand what actions are needed to keep us safe. Obama is doing everything he possibly can to weaken us and invite devastating attack. We are in extremely perilous times. I will be extremely apprised if we aren’t attacked before he leaves office.

“Collateral damage” (innocent life lost…even innocent armed forces) is meaningless to a totalitarian. Witness Islam and King(never let a crisis go to waste…thesis/anti-thesis/synthesis) Hussein (fast & furious, Benghazi, etc., etc.)

It’s all good to build the power. Pawns on the chessboard for the choom gangster.

Confused about Obama’s foreign policy? With Clinton’s foreign policy?

You are likely familiar with the “Hierarchy of Needs” - Things a human MUST have in order survive: for a minute, for an hour, for a day, for a week, for a year, etc. Until those needs are met, he or she cannot look for less important things. Air, water, food, clothing, shelter, etc .. All can get ranked according to a human’s most important priorities.

Now consider every foreign policy decision, speech, foreign leader, foreign trip (well - except vacations), and foreign award or recognition Obama has chosen since 2008.

In every case, Obama and his minions have chosen from a list which can only be described as a hierarchy of hatred ...... Once you know who he hates more than another (who his staff hates - It really isn’t clear whether Obama is smart enough to actually do anything himself) - you know what every foreign policy decision will be:

In every case, Obama has chosen

Radical Islamic bands over Islamic fundamentalist states.

Islamic fundamentalist states over Islamic Sharia-compliant states;

Islamic Sharia states over Islamic religious states;

Islamic religious states over Islamic-tolerant states;

Islamic-tolerant states over Islamic dictatorships;

Islamic dictatorships over Islamic secular states;

Islamic secular states over Islamic republics;

Islamic republics over communist governments;

communist governments over socialist dictatorships;

socialist-dictatorships over socialist-selected governments;

socialist-selected governments over socialist-elected governments;

3rd world socialist-republics over European-white-socialist governments;

European-socialist governments over European-republics;

European-republics over America or English interests;

The democrat-donor or government-enhanced interest over any republican/capitalist/energy/white/male/oil/red interest;

And in every case, when given a public choice, Obama has chosen anybody else over Israeli;

Well I would hope he did.

I just wonder about the guy sometimes. He didn’t seem to have the fire in the belly Conservatism. On some things, he just didn’t have it in him to know which way to go. It was a struggle.

His pappy was an international player. I think it’s tough for kids to come away from that influence and not be a little bit of an internationalist themselves.

We know how those sorts of people see things. It’s not quite like you and I do.

Still, as you say, Bush has vested some time in the Iraq situation. And as it relates to his dad’s internationalist nature, it would seem this would play to Bush’s strength.

Well, I tend to lean that way myself.

I think that’s a reasoned position. It is true that the Left doesn’t play by conventional rules.
