I believe it can be done without undue cruelty, but I do not think most people realize the true enormity of what must be changed. The country needs to be vastly different if we are to have any hope at all. As a start -- a bare start -- the federal budget should be cut in half. Not over night ... but not "over the next 50 years" either: because we all know that stuff never happens. They need 10% annual cuts in every freaking budget. Year after year after year.

Why are we just hearing about this now? But these e-mails would have been on other servers and other computers that did not crash. So we have here a classic late Friday evening news dump, and the IRS is claiming they can’t locate many of her e-mails prior to 2011 because her computer crashed during the summer of that year, which is preposterous. The Regime may not know that I know this, but since the Eisenhower administration, every federal agency’s required to have a Continuity of Operations Plan. COOP is the acronym. And the COOP plan requires that they make and store duplicates of everything. These duplicates are maintained in another safe location in the event records are destroyed by fire or natural disaster or nuclear attack.

Newt misses the big picture. With the IRS so intertwined in everyone’s lives the there is no way to stop the corruption. The problem is having an organization like the IRS in the first place. The tax system needs to change so that the IRS is not involved in the day to day activities of the citizens of the United States. The income tax needs to be repealed and the whole structure of the IRS needs to be overhauled. That way it can’t become a tool of an evil president ever.
