Readers School Politico on 'Missing' IRS Emails
NewsBusters ^ | June 21, 2014 | P.J. Gladnick

The emails of Lois Lerner and other IRS officials are gone forever. Therefore any more complaints about it are nothing but Republican nitpicking. Case closed.

That pretty much sums up the attitude of Politico writer Rachel Bade whose Wednesday article title pretty much sums up what she portrays as the futility of any more investigation into retrieving those missing emails, "Sources: Lois Lerner’s emails likely gone forever." Got that? Or so she seems to hope. However, her writing off the possibility of ever finding those emails elicited a tidal wave of response from Politico readers with over 21,000 comments, many of which begged to differ with her hasty conclusion. First let us read Ms Bade hopefully bid goodbye forever on the chances of IRS email recovery:

Do such comments threads generally run to 21000 comments?

I believe that this HUGE coverup is an indication of how high these emails go. I’ll bet that they go right to Obama.

“I believe that this HUGE coverup is an indication of how high these emails go. I’ll bet that they go right to Obama.”

Some surprisingly squirrelly liberals are very upset about this. I was on a geek website and the normally-liberal leaning chats went nuts calling this a cover-up and a pack of lies - the gist of it being, that a “crashed hard drive” - pardon me, “SEVEN crashed hard drives” - MIGHT fool nontechnical 50-year old’s, but not young, technologically astute people.

Well at least one of the email recipients visited the white house many times during the period in question.

If it does go all the way up do you think anything will ever happen? I guess we have a chance in November of getting the Senate back but that’s our only chance.

What I fail to understand is that since the issue is emails, why does one hard drive supposedly failing mean anything? Theyr’e freaking emails, she sent them to someone, and they would be on the that persons hard drive. Subpoeana the arrogant liberal b###h, put her under oath, and have her supply names of who she sent them to. The whole thing is making the repuglicans even more of a laughing stock than they already are.

Yep don’t count out the old folks when it comes to the internet.

I’ve been watching the twitter feed of the Michigan GOP GOTV effort today and I’m noticing a nice mix of ages taking part in the kickoff.

I am so cynical of these libtards, that I am positive you are right. This rot goes all the way to the top.

If, somehow, the IRS technogeeks HAVE found a new and foolproof means to absolutely delete, without-a-trace, gone forever, method of wiping out the stuff floating around in the cyber universe, seamlessly and totally untraceable, then they have perhaps the magic touchstone that will forever alter the keeping of records.

They cannot even hope to do this sort of thing. They can pile on so much stuff that it is a daunting task to dig through it, but even the ancient tombs of our ancestors eventually yield up the secrets.

What one person can do, can be undone by another.
