Volunteer researchers have uncovered mass graves in a South Texas cemetery that they believe contain the bodies of immigrants who died crossing into the U.S. illegally, according to published reports Saturday. The discovery at Sacred Heart Burial Park in Falfurrias came in the last two weeks, as Baylor University anthropologist Lori Baker and Krista Latham, a forensic anthropologist at the University of Indianapolis, and their students worked as part of a multi-year effort to identify immigrants who've died in the area near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Teams unearthed remains in trash bags, shopping bags, body bags or without a container at all, according to the Corpus Christi Caller Times. In one burial, bones of three bodies were inside one body bag. In another, at least five people in body bags and smaller plastic bags were piled on top of each other. Skulls also were found in biohazard bags placed between coffins

You’re right. I should have read the story closer. But the coyotes preying on illegal immigrants is why they are dying on the borders.

Also we just recently had a story about a funeral home in this area, where they found two dead bodies left to rot in a funeral home. Nothing to do with illegals. Just a funeral home going broke and not taking care of the remains.

I’m sorry for the illegals being callously thrown in graves, but the more important story is why they died in the first place. And to let other illegals know how dangerous it can be for them and especially for unaccompanied children.

There is no end to the curse of having a southern border.

Except in Antarctica?

They’ll get re-interred at Arlington.

yay, thanks, I’ll take that challenge. But if you’d said “You’re an Alinskyite,” then that would be abuse— rules of the board, you know.

I hesitated to click on this thread because I knew it was a politically correct, tearjerking admonition to the heartless Americans in the U.S., more specifically "conservative" Tea Party adherents.

Obviously someone thought enough of these victims to give them a proper burial. True heartlessness would have been uncaring enough to leave the remains in the desert.

The organizes of this project to disturb the gravesite is food for thought. Who decided it should be done?
What was the purpose?
Who funded it?

Your prediction about the thread , its contents and its intent could not have been more wrong and your revealing your thoughts on it brings shame to your intellectual capabilities.

Somebody ping Jeb Bush. Perhaps this act of love will open his eyes.

But I won't bet on it.

Great, you get it. The number of people on this thread , people i like and respect, who don’t get that point is really disappointing. I think the story should be hyped under the headline “Pro-Amnesty Politicians Lure Illegals by the Thousands into the Desert Where They Are Murdered or Die of Exposure to be Deposited in Un-marked graves.”

Another part that is really disconcerting about this is, how many Americans go missing every year? if I were Mafia or just a Texas thug looking to dispose of a victim, just drive them out to the desert, it’ll be assumed that it’s just some illegal crosser. As the Joker or some comic book crook from my childhood liked to say “ no corpus delicti.”

I have advocated exactly what you propose for years. It is far cheaper to fix Mexico than to bear the cost of absorbing an endless flow of Latin America’s “wretched refuse.” Mexico should also be persuaded to reciprocate for the millions of illegals we’ve already taken in by easing existing barriers to commercial and industrial development by U.S. companies and by allowing U.S. citizens to own real estate in all Mexican states.
