After the shellacking the RINO segment of the RNC took last week with Eric Cantor’s defeat, one would think they might get the message that voters are sick to death of the business-as-usual tactics. Sadly it seems – they have not.
From all indications, the RNC simply does not care if their anointed candidates are the most popular, most experienced, or best qualified. All that seems to matter is picking the guy or gal who’ll do the RNC’s (mostly liberal) bidding, even if that means working to destroy a solid conservative in the process.
Typical of their low-life tactics is the current mess between primary candidates in Arizona Congressional District-2. Three individuals are running for the coveted seat: Shelley Kais, Martha McSally and Chuck Wooten. The victor will go head to head against the democratic incumbent, Ron Barber.
Shelly Kais is barely worth mentioning, except for the fact that she was McSally’s campaign manager on McSally’s two previous bids for the D-2 congressional seat. McSally failed at both attempts.
When Kais suddenly separated from McSally and decided to run against her in the 2014 primary, speculation ran high on why Kais turned on her old boss.
Could it be that Kais is a ringer, purposely planted to draw votes away from any McSally challenger? Or did Kais lose faith in McSally and now imagines she can do a better job? Either way, the situation looks sketchy.
Martha McSally is a retired US Air Force officer who believes that the few hundred hours she spent flying the A-10 somehow qualifies her for Congress. Following that logic . . .
Nevertheless, immediately after Gabriel Gifford resigned her position on January 25th, 2012, McSally left her home in Germany and raced to Tucson to proclaim her candidacy in the special election. She publicly stated she believed she had been ‘called by God’ to come back to the district and run for congress. More like a phone call from the RNC.
She ran in the primary against Jesse Kelly, an Iraq War veteran and a staunch conservative who professed belief in Pro-life, traditional family values and religious freedom. Since McSally never offered the voters an opinion on these issues, she was soundly beaten.
And this is where it gets sleazy.
Following McSally’s loss, her communications manager, Sam Stone, met with Barber’s staff to coordinate Kelly’s demise. According to Barber’s advisor, Rod McLeod, McSally believed that if Barber won in the special election, then she would be free to go head-to-head against him in the regular election. Per McSally’s shenanigans, Kelly narrowly lost and the liberal socialist, Barber, was elected to office.
As expected, McSally started her campaign all over again and did run against Barber in the following regular 2012 election. But district republicans were weary of McSally’s guerilla tactics and stayed away from the polls, giving Barber a second victory.
Now McSally’s back for a third try – and surprise, surprise, she’s up to her old tricks. Last week her supporters filed a lawsuit in Pima County Superior Court against her only viable opponent, Chuck Wooten, a retired US Air Force Command Chief Master Sergeant.
Suspicions run very high that the frivolous lawsuit was funded by McSally’s campaign and orchestrated by the RNC machinery. The suit, filed by radical Shaun McClusky and questionable Lori Oein, charged that 444 signatures collected on petitions for Wooten were invalid because they claimed that initially Wooten’s own party affiliation was shown as ‘undeclared.’ However, according to Arizona state law, a candidate’s party affiliation only needs to be declared at the time of filing, which Wooten complied with.
Wooten’s attorney, Jack Wilenchik, immediately filed a Motion to Dismiss. After a week of processing, the case was heard on Wednesday in Pima County Superior Court with the Honorable Judge Gus Aragon presiding.
Since the case was completely frivolous, it took only a few minutes for the judge to grant Wooten’s Motion to Dismiss. But in order to achieve that decision, approximately 20 government employees, many of them high-priced attorneys, had to respond to McSally’s baloney suit and then appear in court.
The ridiculous, one-week lawsuit effectively cost the taxpayers of Arizona State and Pima and Cochise Counties an estimated $70–$100 thousand dollars, not to mention several large evergreen trees. The entire escapade had one goal – to undermine our free election process (something she’s skilled at).
After the hearing Wilenchik issued this statement. “We strongly believe that the lawsuit was funded by Martha McSally’s campaign, even though she chose not to show her face in court. We believe they also filed the lawsuit with the express purpose of causing Mr. Wooten to spend money on attorney fees instead of his campaign. Her action was groundless and filed in bad faith.”
McSally ignores the obvious fact that Wooten has a First Amendment right to run for office, as did Kelly. As her only interest seems to be sabotaging elections, one can extrapolate that the constitution is meaningless to her.
Is that really what we want in Washington?
Right now McSally appears completely unaccountable. Riding primarily on her very low time as a ‘combat pilot,’ she believes the rest of us should take her on face value that she’ll do the right thing in Congress. Personally, that’s kind of a hard pill to swallow after all she’s done to the voters.
Given that McSally refuses to face her primary opponents in a debate and has yet to clarify her stand on issues like national defense, amnesty, border closure, base closure, healthcare, abortion, marriage and/or religious freedom, why any voter would trust her is perplexing.
Based upon her repeated subterfuge, she must believe herself above the law and thus – an elite. If nothing else, her approach to running a campaign most assuredly gives wide-angle perspective on how she’ll operate if she ever manages to win an election.
Before Wednesday I’d only met Wooten once, but as an individual who earned the second highest position in all of the USAF enlisted ranks and at one point controlled more than 17 thousand troops, I’m guessing he isn’t afraid to do honest battle, even with McSally. If Wednesday’s events are any indication, it appears Wooten is a true statesman and McSally is altogether – something else.

Could be. The DNC and the various Marxist dictators from Mexico, Central and South America are running the Republicans' reelection campaigns by telling them what they have to do to get reelected. How many times have the commie 'RATS in Barry's state controlled "media" told the Republicans that they will never win again unless they "rebrand" themselves as Commie DemocRATS Lite?
Ron Barber is now and has always been a 200 lb bag of steer manure.
this type of intramural bickering is going to ruin any chance we have of winning in the numbers we need to reverse Obama’s damage. The public will turn their backs of all of them. And I don’t blame them!

It is clear that 50% or more of Repugnican’ts are actually Democrats set up to play a role as “the other side” to continue appearances of a two party system. They serve two main roles: They infiltrate the party and liberalise the platform, continuously working to move it to the left. They also know that when they run, especially against Democrat incumbents and in certain races like mayor of Philadelphia, they are going to lose. Why do they do it then? It’s a good career, if only for the short term. It’s also (to these guys) exciting, and it is a chance to get real power if they do somehow win. And some of them are fools, who do not realize they are being used.

In which way would you want McSally to change so you might support her, is she should win the R. primary in August?
Does Wooten, who is a complete unknown in CD 2, have a ghost of a chance to defeat Ron Barber?

I ask these questions out of curiosity rather than confrontation. I am a CD 2 voter who has, and now does, work for Martha McSally. However I am generally disgusted with the DC leadership of the Republican Party and have switched my registration to Independent.
Why, did someone suggest he wasn't?
After the 30th Tea Party person is elected, the RNC will start to notice...
I can’t answer for Kaslin who is perfectly capable of answering for himself anyway, but McSally is a pawn in the deeply corrupt McCain/Kyl machine. Voting for her is a vote for Amnesty big time!
They are getting smarter. They know enough not to send out their solicitations for her under McCain’s name. They do it under Kyl’s name because way too many people even here in AZ don’t know that he was (and remains) one of the Wizards of the Universe working for Amnesty from way back when we first stopped it by melting the phone lines.
She will work for that and is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Better to take a chance on someone you’re not sure of than one you know is corrupt and destructive. She and the McCain/Kyl machine are Republicans, but they are NOT for republican principles!
I don’t think that dear leader is actually involved, but it’s obvious that the ‘rat wing of the uniparty and the gop wing of the uniparty are acting in a coordinated fashion. Which is why I see less and less point in showing up at the polls. I can vote for the same big government agenda regardless of who I vote for? Sorry. Cleaning my fridge is a more productive use of my time.
