Not sure whether you are from Texas or not but being a Governor in our state is a whole lot different than being a governor in another state. Speaker of the House and the Lt. Governor really run the show.

Rick Perry just seems like Willard Romney with a Texas drawl.”

Please! Romney wouldn’t even last five minutes in Texas except maybe in Austin. I didn’t vote for Romney last time and would never vote for Rick as President but I would throw a rotten tomato at you for your comment if you were down here!!!

I'll give Perry one thing. He did shoot a coyote that was following his dog while Perry was out jogging.

Perry used a semi-auto .380 from what I understand.

State Troopers disposed of the coyote.

He does carry for his own protection and the protection of those around him.

Still won't vote for the liberal guy though.

Mrs. 40 and I went to see McCain in Balboa Park San Diego when he ran in 2000. We were exited to see him. By 2008 I couldn't stand to hear him speak.

The worst I ever voted for was myself as a write in in 1976. I didn't win. :-P

I had worked for the Reagan campaign during the primaries and after he failed to get the nomination I just couldn't bring myself to vote for Ford.

Gosh, I thought I was being charitable! My first thought was that he was Charlie Crist with a Texas drawl.

Beats me. What about it? Mine is pretty good too, and I've been through 2 culinary schools, one civilian, one military.

Yeah, he shot a coyote. But he still didn’t think it was important enough to make Texas gun laws significantly better than those in Illinois. No open carry, a difficult to obtain and expensive Concealed carry permit. Come to Texas and keep your guns! In a gun safe that is.

Too bad Texas under his leadership didn’t strive to have as good of gun laws as WI, VT, or DE. Yup. Joe Biteme’s state has better gun laws than Texas.

I’m completely unimpressed so far.

I think that Perry really does think he changed. Too bad that good intentions don't feed the bulldog.

He ain't Crist. Crist never shot wildlife while jogging in the morning.

That said, I'm not voting for Perry for anything. Not secretary for the kindergarten reading circle at the library.

Open carry is 100% on Dewhurst. Perry can't do a damn thing about it.

We fired Dewhurst.

His replacement promises to stop the legislative block in the Senate.

Blame where it's due.

And never forget that a lot of the Texas Constitution and laws are the result of reconstruction, and the carpetbagging yankees that forced those rules on us.

It takes time to get rid of that crap.

I still remember LBJ doing his Austin run from his ranch.

Texas is getting better. Lots better.

Romney won Texas last general election.”

I know. Neither I nor my family voted for him then and we sure won’t vote for him in the future. By the time the Presidential primary gets around to Texas it’s generally all over anyway.
