WHY would anyone want to? It's a dirty, dusty, stinky old hole like the rest of the KSA.

If it did happen then Medina would become Islam's holiest of cities.

If someone nuked Medina then they would go to their THIRD holiest city: Jerusalem.
No one will ever nuke Jerusalem because we give the (American trained) Israelis HALF of our foreign aid budget to defend it.

BEST for all that the Muslims keep their dusty, dirty, stinky Mecca hole.

However, if all three HOLY cities were to be nuked then Islam would choose a fourth city: Hoboken, New Jersey.

However, I do think that as long as we keep pussyfooting with them, we will continue to get what we have been getting.

Iraq was never stable. Saddam used torture chambers and death squads and kept a lid on the media. He also used wars to rally his people (Iran and Kuwait).

Who is "we"? When Obama inherited Iraq, things were stable enough for Biden to declare in 2010 that Iraq "would go down as one of the [Obama] administration's greatest triumphs." Apart from the fact that this was entirely premature, it was typical Obama hubris: whatever stability existed then was the result of Bush, not Obama. Obama then withdrew all troops, refused to communicate with Maliki, turned a blind eye to the situation, played golf, and now we have what we have. You can argue about whether we should have gone to Iraq, but Obama did NOT inherit the situation we have now.
