Saddam, the Good Old Days

I know it’s a terrible thing to say, but sometimes I miss Saddam Hussein.

What should we do in Iraq? In my opinion we should bomb the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq to oblivion. ISIS wants to establish an Islamic caliphate from which it would extend its barbaric belief system to the world. If Saddam was still the Iraqi dictator, he would never have permitted ISIS to exist. Now we must destroy it. No troops on the ground, just American air power. We have it and we must use it before ISIS becomes an even greater threat. It’s not about Iraq. It’s about us.

At least he kept these animals under control. They aren’t worthy of all the American blood that has been shed trying to save them.

To answer your headline question, you might ask the Shia about that one. Now again, they are the main target under attack by the Sunni sects, which goes back roughly to the beginning of Islam. Saddam was not either, ergo the Baathist’s who controlled the guns were actually non-sectarian.

It is a turf war on the battlefield of the Caliphate as to which sect will reign over the other in their separate quests for world dominance under Islam and Sharia Law.

Do we need to get involved in it? My opinion in regards to those who gave it all is yes, but that is not the logical answer. I say let them start killing off each other as they have done for so long and keep thinning the herd.

They are under the impression if they can create the worldwide Caliphate then each of their Mahdi interpretations will pop out of the well to reign over a world where Sharia is the only law. But let it be said they missed a little bit in the translation of what Jesus himself said or they purposely skewed his words for their own self-aggrandizement.

Well I would want to here this from a few sources before I believe it. The “trial” was in Baghdad? I thought Baghdad was mostly Shia and under government control? Lets confirm this story, right now it smells like propaganda.

Sorry about that ... one correction here:

Let’s be brutally honest here. The dirty little secret that nobody wants to talk about is that Saddam Hussein was far more effective at dealing with radical Muslims in Iraq than were the @ssholes in the U.S. government who invaded Iraq and toppled his government.

When muslim animals are killing muslim animals it is in our best interest to stay out of it.

We should have pursued that policy in the past.

We should be wise enough to pursue it now.

But we didn’t and we aren’t.

When muslim animals are killing muslim animals it is in our best interest to stay out of it.

WWI, with its massive, senseless killing accompanied by equally horrific physical and moral destruction, was the great self-consuming catastrophe of Christianity and Western civilization. It destroyed the confidence of the intellectual classes in the goodness and validity of Western society and Christianity themselves and unleashed the horrors of communism, nazism, socialism, and multiculturalism on the West and the world.

I don't think the civilized world can stay out of it now. ISIS is well trained, brutal, wealthy, seem sophisticated, and the longer they can go without being stopped, the more entrenched, wealthy and unstoppable they'll become. What if they keep the land they have and add a corridor to the Med? What if they send fighers from other parts of the world who joined them back to their homelands to organize there? What if they engage in odd alliances like with Nazis run amuck in western Ukraine?

These are rogue terrorists who gained a lot of their competence fighting for the US in Syria....where we're on the wrong side. The civilized world needs to come together and stop them now. Everyday it's getting less likely that can be done.

If Saddam was still the Iraqi dictator, he would never have permitted ISIS to exist.

Not correct. Saddam was the old Caliphate. He invaded Kuwait, fought a war against Iran, tortured and murdered his subjects, used chemical weapons on Kurds and Iranians. That is history.

What is present ? Saddam's old surviving Baathist officers have joined the ISIS Caliphate. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
