Iran rejects U.S. action in Iraq as militants push east

ANBAR Iraq (Reuters) - Iran's supreme leader condemned U.S. intervention in Iraq on Sunday, accusing Washington of seeking control as Sunni insurgents drove toward Baghdad from the Syrian border and consolidated positions in the north and west.

The statement by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was the clearest statement of opposition to a U.S. plan to dispatch of up to 300 military advisers in response to pleas from the Iraqi government and runs counter to speculation that old enemies Washington and Tehran might cooperate to defend their mutual ally in Baghdad.

"We are strongly opposed to U.S. and other intervention in Iraq," IRNA news agency quoted Khamenei as saying. "We don’t approve of it as we believe the Iraqi government, nation and religious authorities are capable of ending the sedition."

They’re not in power. And I don’t see them helping Obama the way Paul is with some of his comments.

Again, what’s Paul doing about it other than contradicting himself the same way every other politician has done on Iraq?

You can’t say (as Paul did) the US is funding ISIS, then turn around and say the ISIS attack is proof of an organic civil war.

And why not? Obama wants the fall of Iraq.

Of course he does, and Paul is helping him with some of his comments.

Paul is exposing Obama, not helping him.

“Did he predict we’d have a Muslim in the white house funding terrorists?”

Obama needs impeached but so did Bush. Both need to face some serious accountability. If not the next President will act even more counter to our Constitution.

We were sold a bill of goods when we chose to enter that supposed free cake walk war. What we need are American leaders working conscientiously for all Americans. I’m not seeing that from either Party. Too many Americans vote for the color of team’s jersey rather than voting out those that do not serve our Constitution and America.

To be honest I can hardly stand listening to many of them pontificate about their own incompetence and what should end up being treason. Americans are on the cusp of waking up to how we been screwed over by shrewd corrupt politicians and a do nothing media.

I’m curious as to what grounds you would impeach Bush?

“I’m curious as to what grounds you would impeach Bush?”

Unconstitutionally spying on law abiding American citizens that had nothing to do with 9-11. 9-11 was carried out by outsiders and those on expired visas. They should have secured the borders and visa holders.

Instead he used 9-11 as an excuse to trample on average Americans and attempted to open our Mexican borders. Had Bush been impeached as an example, Obama would not be trashing our Constitution. If the Congress doesn’t take back our government expect it to get worse in the coming imperial Presidencies.

“The coming battle for Baghdad between hardened Sunni veteran fighters and the mostly novice Shi’ite militias and their equally untested Iranian “volunteers” won’t be pretty.”

With the Ba’ath Party having put the band back together, having seized the biggest chemical weapons depot in the country, and in possession of some fine-looking howitzers; I’d expect a mass killing campaign like it’s 1988 - only this time against the Shia.

The Ba’ath Party was modeled on the Nazi Party - socialism based on race rather than class - The supremacy of the Arab race (translated as “The Arab Nation” or “Arab Nationalism” by Western apologists).

They have long insulted the Iraqi Shia by calling them “Persians”. It is a threat really, because the Ba’ath used race to justify genocide and ethnic cleansing of Kurds. I have talked to “former” Ba’athists who very spiritedly recommended levelling every building in East Baghdad (Sadr City) and killing every last person there, because “they aren’t even really Arabs”.

Expeienced mass murderers with the doctrine, organization and training to do it; now equipped with the means.

Get your popcorn now, it could be a big show.

The whole thing stinks, I agree. But RP looks just as bad as everyone else at this point. And the NWO accusers are wasting their time with him as well.

The ‘90 UN resolution was for ejecting Iraqi troops from Kuwait, not for taking Baghdad.

Peace talks?

There will be no peace talks until the capture of Sunni territory is complete. The talks then will be concerned with determining precise boundaries between the ISSL, Shia land and Old Syria.

Neither Iraq nor Syria posesses the ability to assault and capture back the lost territory. The assets captured in Iraq assure the ISSL will prevail in Syria. The Iraqi Shia lack the will to go on offense.

If Obama were serious about stopping the ISIL offensive he would be forcing Saudi Arabia to stop its funding of the “Islamists”

To be more precise, that is American and Western money financing the terrorists but laundered through Saudi Arabia through immense purchases of crude oil and gas.

"Energy Independence" is more than just a cute slogan. It is essential to our survival.

The evil media will use anything to distract and spin for Obama. Paul is a drop in the bucket.

Well double down and go all in.

Because if someone uses the phraseology “new world order”, they obviously are committed to the same grand conspiracy that is twisted into your imagination.
