I just received a letter from Paul in the mail.
He asked for money.
If they are allowed to vote, they should be allowed to bear arms as well. FULL rights as citizen if have not committed any crimes in 10+ years
“You don’t believe in anything in between? It’s either a 100% return, or life in prison?”
Yes...
AMEN.
Rand has morphed into aeEstablishment fool.
Rand has morphed into a Establishment fool.
I see your point, but I still think his bill has some potential. Maybe it should have a requirement of having to have a clean record for 20 years (not 10 per my original suggestion).
Regardless, it likely won’t happen any time soon.
You don’t even sound like you are fooling yourself.
Have you ever been a part of a social structure of future cons, ex-cons, and repeat cons, and in and out cons, and never caught so far felons, who were your friends and roommates and running buddies, who you knew what they were really like, and what they would think about this nonsense?
Have you ever run with the Sociopaths and Psychopaths and seen how they don’t even see prison and doing time like you seem to think they do, and not just them, the system itself that has to manage them?
Name one? I can name dozens. Where shall we start? Meet your future eligible Democrat voter pool if Rand Paul gets his way. All “non-violent” offenders:

Republican U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has found an unlikely ally in U.S. Senate in Majority Leader Harry Reid
&&&
Nothing “unlikely” in that pairing; Runt is more in line with Reid than he is with any true Republican.
Good one Billy. You did your homework. I spent more than 25 years in California prisons. It was not fun, dealing with the dregs of society, day in and day out, but I survived.
You are correct sir. I do not even think I would be going out on a limb, to say the vast majority of prison inmates are Dem supporters. Many of the ones I talked to, thought the rats were softer on crime, so they supported rats over pubbies. I am sure there were some other reasons too, but I think that ONE reason was the most important to them.
Criminals are a natural Democratic constituency. Republicans are generally speaking for longer sentences for crimes and repeat offenders will be punished less severely if Democrats win. Additionally, convicted criminals attempting to reintegrate into society after serving time are going to need welfare programs at a higher than average rate. The only issue on which Republicans are better for the convicts are restoration of gun rights, and my guess is that is less attractive than money or leniency.
Something in the coffee on the hill
Rand Paul has gone completely around the bend in the last several months!
The majority of felons are Black and Democrat, and many have converted to Islam while in prison.
Rand has flushed any chance he ever had for being a Prez candidate on the GOP/Conservative ticket, because he continues to run his mouth in support of just about every liberal social issue.
“Non-violent” will soon be set aside for “all.”
Ruin Paul is the Judas Iscariot of the Republican Party.
The Paul’s have left the Republican party and any sense of decency. Good to see the colors now, and NOT when Rand is getting sworn into office... /sarc
I really wish Rand Paul would just switch to “Independent” and get it over with.
I was hoping for another Ted Cruz. Instead, we’re getting another RINO.
