What part of the “black” vote in MS does Cochran normally get?
Because the flyer put out was directed at blacks (racism meme).
Did the “klan” democrats show up to vote for Cochran in this primary? If so, then they will not in the general—worth a wager.

Which will NRA support? Dem or Repub? Cochran’s position on 2nd Amendment, immigration and other hot buttons will decide this.

What I learned from what occurred in Mississippi yesterday, is that there really isn't much of a difference between the Democrat party, and the Republican party.

Yes. The so called “rebranded” Republicans have joined with the DNC and are now big “tax and spenders” stabbing the hardworking middle class families in the back at every turn. Everything is about coming up with new ways for the politicians to steal more money from Americans by coming up with weird new “taxes”. I’m totally disgusted. I don’t have a country anymore and I’m not going to become a freeloader dependent upon ‘RAT politicians just to retain my U.S. citizenship.

Do the idiot GOP elite think the people are going to forget that they used Democrats to defeat them? And then come vote for Cochran? (who they didn’t want)

Or that the democrats that helped Cochran win are going to vote for him again in the main elections?

I don’t think they lost it, but they definitely lost the support of a large portion of their base.

If they do lose it this is a big reason why. This will reverberate beyond MS.

No, the seat can be lost and still win the Senate.

"At this point, what difference does it make?"

A Republican Senate will not change anything in the next two years.
Especially the Republican Senate we're likely to get.

Let the Black Democrats and union hacks vote Cochran in in Nov. No conservative McDaniel voters should vote for the Democrat choice, Cochran. Write in the real GOP choice, McDaniel.

The republicans that wring their hands over possible losing a seat never say one word about Richard Lugar endorsing the democrat in Georgia this year or John Warner endorsing the democrat in Virginia.

Since they really don’t care if they regain the senate, neither do I. They just want power

Yes. Well I hope they did for one reason and one reason only ... and that is that we as the Tea Party will simply stop voting for the GOPe. this was a huge slap in our collective faces. If we do not at least keep Thad out of the Senate, the GOPe will realize we have no real power except in the occasional Congressional District.

If disenfranchised voters decide not to show up in November,
maybe its becuz they see no difference between the candidates.

McDaniel and his supporters should start a write in campaign. If McDaniel can get his supporters to support him as a write in candidate, then the GOPE can decide if they want to continue to support Cochran and let the Democrats have the seat, or throw their support behind McDaniel.

Looking at the numbers 180k might not seem to be enough to swing the election, but there is no doubt a LOT of conservatives in MS who will no doubt be VERY upset at how the POS Cochran won!

No.

Unless, of course, a huge group of “conservative” purists sit at home in November pouting because their guy didn’t win the nomination. Perhaps there are enough old grumps to throw the election to the dems, but I doubt it.

(”Conservative” is in quotes, because a true conservative is also a realist who understands that taking oneself out of the game is petulant and selfish and scores points for the other side.)

The Democrats are standing against God, the Republicans have forgotten God. If I was in Mississippi, based on how I feel at this moment, I possibly would go to the polls in November. . TO VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT!

Cochran, and probably other Republicans, will lose if McDaniel voters are pissed and stay home.

Best strategy: McDaniel meets with Cochran’s handlers, Haley Barbour, etc., and offers conditional support. McDaniel will endorse and actively promote “healing” ONLY IF Cochran pledges to oppose amnesty vigorously (however disguised); support impeachment of Obama should the blessed opportunity arise; support real spending reductions; reduce Big Government regulation; etc. No tricks or weaseling allowed.

If the above does not occur, and Cochran wins the general election anyway, he will have no obligation to support “Tea Party” positions.

If it does occur, and McDaniel wins, we will have a functional facsimile of a conservative Senator in office.

If it does not occur, a left-wing Democrat commissar will be elected to support amnesty, protect Obama, spend even more, confirm leftist judges and appointees, and vote for higher taxes, more regulation and PC insanity.

Which seems preferable?
