The electoral shenanigans employed by the victorious Cochran campaign in the Mississippi Republican runoff were too much for even GOP establishment spokesman Sean Hannity– who urged listeners not to reward Thad Cochran’s “disgusting” tactics by voting for him in the general election…

What Hannity needs to do is publicly disavow his friendship with Karl Rove.

I know that Hannity has to have Rove on his program as a part of Rove's contractual rotation through Fox's lineup, but Hannity has to forever more stop calling him "my friend" and "The Architect," and start calling him out as not a friend of conservatives.

It's time to go ice cold, Hannity.

Haley Barbour misfires in attempt to tar Chris McDaniel’s approach to racial politics

He went on to note that Cochran is defending Mississippi’s federal education funding against attacks by McDaniel. Barbour said that Mississippi’s voters might be incensed by McDaniel’s opposition to the federal Department of Education.

“Our state gets over a billion and a half dollars in federal funding for education, and Chris McDaniel says it’s unconstitutional?” Barbour remarked. “Some of those people are African-American. Some of them are Democrats. But tens of thousands of people concerned about Mississippi schools are independents and Republicans.”

Facing a desperate runoff election against Tea Party challenger Chris McDaniel on Tuesday, Sen. Thad Cochran has been accused of pursuing an unorthodox strategy for a Mississippi Republican: robocalling black voters.

“The time has come to make a stand and say ‘No!’ to the Tea Party, ‘No!’ to their obstruction, ‘No!’ to their disrespectful treatment of the first African-American president,” the calls exhort would-be voters.

“MS Democrats must be laughing their *sses off over this.
They’ve managed to split the GOP into two warring factions - who do you suppose will benefit?”

I don’t think the Dims mananged anything. This whole scandal came out of the fertile imagination of Boss Hogg Haley Barbour. He used ignorant Dims to get Cochran, his puppet, elected while at the same time saluting conservatives/tea partiers with the middle finger.

Barbour, Cochran, McConnell, and the Chamber of Commerce are the ones who managed to split the Republicans into two warring factions.

Unfortunately it won’t count if people do write him in.

http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2011/01/16/5247199.htm

According to state law, write-in candidates are permitted only as the legitimate substitute of a candidate who has died, resigned, withdrawn or been removed from the race.

They've managed to split the GOP into two warring factions - who do you suppose will benefit?

Tactically, or strategically?

Tactically, the Dems, as they now have a good chance to win the seat.

Strategically, the Tea Party (the American people) because this can be used to greatly advance our cause.

Thad can go be a Democrat in name also. I wouldn’t support the half dead bastard after the race baiting he and the NRSC participated in against McDaniel and the Tea Party. Remember Alaska and Murkowski. Its time to put the hurt to the establishment. They didn’t learn a damn thing from Cantor.
