Fox’s Neil Cavuto and Michele Bachmann Get into Epic Shouting Match: ‘You’re Being Silly!’
Mediaite ^ | 06/25/2014 | Tina Nguyen

Posted on 06/25/2014 5:40:02 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

An exchange between Neil Cavuto and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) regarding a lawsuit filed by the House against the Obama administration grew so contentious, that the former cut to commercial in the midst of Bachmann furiously admonishing him.

While Bachmann was on Fox to defend the lawsuit, which claims that the administration has abused his powers via over-using executive privilege and wants to defund him, Cavuto exasperatedly pointed out that the timing of the lawsuit seemed too political to make sense. “You’ve been bemoaning it for a long time. Why now the suit?” he asked. “Why not just fix things that are very, very wrong now rather than dragging someone to court over whether they overstepped their bounds? It just seems to me like an enormous waste of effort.”

Bachmann attempted to defend the lawsuit by hitting the GOP’s talking points, Cavuto wasn’t having any of it: Where was your rage with Democrats when Democrats were going after President Bush on the same use of executive orders? Because I think you knew then that was a waste of time then. I think you know in your heart of hearts this is a waste of time now.”

Eventually it devolved to the point where Cavuto abruptly took the program to a commercial break as Bachmann was in the middle of a loud denunciation of Cavuto.

When he returned, he apologized to Bachmann for accidentally cutting her off. “But I don’t apologize for my sentiment for the fact that we are wasting time filing lawsuits against one another,” he added. “These types of charades — and I’m sorry, that’s what I call them — are just that, charades.”

Now Mediaite LOVE Cavuto!

As much as it pains me because I really liked Bachmann once, Cavuto has a nugget of a point (even if he worded it like a doofus). This is showmanship to make out to the base “hey look! Boehner is being tough on Obama!”

We’re not buying it. They showed their colors in Mississippi. We got the damn memo.

Cavuto grabs on to a meme at times and simply is impervious to reason. He’s really turning me off. He likes to hear himself talk and wants to be a comedian now.

Reminds me of someone else on Fox.

What Cavuto did to Bachman, Obama is doing to Congress...
and the American people!

Lawsuits are a mistake. Impeachment is the answer

Cavity is a Democrat who loves Big Government. Don’t confuse him with facts.

The chances are slim with a lawsuit; they are none for an impeachment because the Senate would summarily acquit.

I think that Cavuto was Right. This was a Political stunt to avoid what obviously should have been months ago.Boehner and the House should have filed Impeachment papers on Lord Obama months ago.

This Lawsuit is a joke only covering the House of Representatives Collective Rear-ends.

Of coarse the Result of the Law suit will not be known until well after Obama’s out of the White House.

Impeachment is a fun word to say.

But since it’s statistically impossible to even get a 2/3 Republican Senate in Nov, it’s like hoping Salma Hayek will dump her billionaire husband and call me for a date.

I muted this. I don't care who it is, I don't like shouting matches. I thought Cavuto was out of line...why have people on and not let them talk?

I didn't understand a word either of them was saying...so I muted it.

The lawsuit will go nowhere.

This is nothing but more kabuki theater.

I’m sorta with Cavuto. Don’t sue him, impeach him. 0bama admitted his guilt when he said he was going to fundamentally change the USA.

Rupert owns many rags, even the idea of Fox News did not really reflect his heart.

Sure he`s a fiscal Conservative but that`s it, he fits Dr Dobsons coined phrase RINO

Preaching to the choir I realize, just saying
\
He bought the Liberal Wall Street Journal and made no changes, still allows the paper to team up with NBC for the very dishonest WSJ/NBC news polls

The law suit is a space holder for after the election, when impeachment actually has a cance of succeeding.

The law suit should not be rushed, just talked up as defending the rule of law and the constitution. What Democrat wants to go on record saying that they oppose the rule of law and the constitution?

Exactly. If Boehner was acting in good faith he would have done this in 2013 as soon as Obama began to rewrite the Obamacare law singlehandedly.

I was most pleased with Neil. He said things to her that needed to be said. Why have the Repugs taken sooooo long to do something, anything, about this lawless administration? Why now?

-— They showed their colors in Mississippi -—

Which explains the timing. Boehner will make sure that the effort is symbolic.

No, we’re not buying what they’re selling.
