Obama’s Weakness, or Ours?
New York Times ^ | June 25, 2014 | By Nicolas Kristof

The odds are that you think President Obama’s foreign policy is a failure.

That’s the scathing consensus forming, with just 36 percent of Americans approving of Obama’s foreign policy in a New York Times/CBS News poll released this week. Foreign policy used to be a source of strength for the president, and now it’s dragging him down — and probably other Democrats with him.

Blowing things up is often satisfying, and Obama’s penchant for muddling along instead, with restraint, is hurting him politically. But that’s our weakness more than his. Obama’s foreign policy is far more deft — and less dangerous — than the public thinks, and he doesn’t deserve the harsh assessments. If there’s one thing we should have learned in the Bush/Cheney years, it’s that swagger and invasion are overrated as foreign policy instruments.

Journalists and the advocate media have so much invested in this fraud, but have run out of bull crap to defend his colossal failure.

Foreign policy used to be a source of strength for the president,

Ha Ha! During the Hope and Change Tour of 2007 when it was all make-believe, perhaps.... After 2009 - what a joke!

It’s not a failure if he’s a Muslim.

Well, as usual Kristof is preaching to the choir. The comments after the article are all supportive of Obama and Kristof. No surprise. Obama supporters simply cannot accept the fact that he is a disaster for this country. And of course, the fault for ALL of Obama’s disasters lies with Bush-Cheney-Republican House, etc., etc., etc. Taking NO responsibility whatsoever.......typical Dems.

We can spend the rest of our lives extolling the virtues of his foreign policy as we practice our Russian while standing in the bread lines.

I don't believe deft is a word that will often be used when Obama's foreign policy skills are recalled years from now.

The fact that King Barry was elected in the first place is a nation disgrace so in reality, everything he does is "our" fault. The number of "Conservative" voters who sat out 2012 because Romney was far from perfect is proof of the fact that we're a nation of spoiled children who deserve no better than Barry.

It's the same with people who won't vote out an incumbent because the alternative is a RINO when just keeping a piece of crap in office from getting seniority is an accomplishment in and of itself.

A nation full of people who "take their toys and go home" rather than flocking to the polls to elect anyone but Obama are a people who are morally bankrupt no matter what grand, "higher morality", pretense they cloak their moral bankruptcy in.

You ask for it, you got it, that's the current reality. It's all "our fault" and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves as the lack of angry mobs in the streets of Washington and large protests nationwide proves.

King Barry and his democrat fascist friends know the truth about American politics and the truth is that if there are no riots and/or large protests there's no real opposition, only whiners.

I will not be lectured by a upper west side liberal. This mess is not our fault...it belongs squarely to Obama and the people who put him in office.

No we were respected and FEARED during those 8 years......today this weak appeasing community hack from Chicago is putting us all in danger.

Obama could blow up the NYT building and they’d find a way to see the bright side.
