Militants systems "Grad" and tanks attacked checkpoints near Sloviansk: shelling the airfield is in Kramatorsk.

Military journalist Ruslan Yarmolyuk, who is now at the forefront of ATO, said that two checkpoints near Sloviansk attacked by terrorists. Gunmen fire on Ukrainian military systems of salvo fire "Grad" and tanks. He said this on his page on Facebook, reports Tsenzor.NET.

From the live blogs and Twitter, it sounds as if the rebels hit a major Kiev checkpoint north of Slovyansk, first with a captured Grad, then moved in with a tank, a BMD, and infantry.

Apparently this checkpoint protects a major supply route for “TV Tower Hill”, the hill that overlooks Slovyansk, that Kiev has occupied for about 3 weeks now, and where the Mi-8 was shot down yesterday.
At Kramatorsk, a Nat Guard, Right Sector bunch apparently tried to push into town, where they got ambushed, losing a BMP and a Grad Truck to an AA gun.
They fled back to the airport, and there was two-way shelling with mortars and with the captured Grad, for about an hour, before the rebels moved back toward Slovyansk.
Also, per several tweets, the fight in Donetsk is apparently over, with Vostok taking control of another Kiev base, either “2004”, or “3004”. Commander captured, soldiers paroled without weapons, bunch of ammo and several “heavy” weapons captured.
This was either a Nat Guard base, or a base for the “Prison Police”.
Kiev apparently confirms the loss of the base.

There is also a twitter rumor that Zhirinovskiy is on the border, and may show up in either Lugansk or Donetsk on Friday.

I accepted the capitulation of the Ukrainian military base.
For two days prior, we cut off the base from water supplies. Last night, the People’s Militia assaulted this military base, which is situated on the territory of Donetsk. Specifically, the attack was conducted by the “Kalmius” detachment.
As the end of the many hours of battle, we were victorious. Let’s say this – it was a definitive victory. Both sides used automatic weapons, light and heavy machine guns, under-slung grenades, and grenade launchers. On our side we also had armour, albeit a single vehicle.
The “Kalmius” assault group penetrated into the territory of the military base. They captured the command personnel. Having virtually exhausted their ammunition, the Ukrainian military base was forced to surrender to the mercy of the victors.
All three companies were disarmed. There were no (KIA – killed in action). Only a small number of (WIA – wounded in action). Trophies and the military banner of the base were captured. The personnel was taken prisoner and, by 03:00, was removed from the territory of the base.
