Iran reportedly sent military advisers, head of Quds Force to Iraq

Iran reportedly has sent military advisers into Iraq and dispatched the head of its infamous Quds Force to help Baghdad strategize in its fight against Sunni militants, as the United States takes similar steps despite concern about Tehran's involvement....

Fox News confirms that Iran is flying surveillance drones over Iraq, something the U.S. also is doing.

The New York Times reported that Iran, in addition, is sending tons of military equipment to the fellow Shiite-led government in Iraq and is dispatching military advisers. According to the Times, about a dozen officers from Iran's Quds Force have been sent into the country.

Gen. Qassim Suleimani, head of that paramilitary wing, also reportedly visited Iraq at least twice to advise the Iraqi military.

This comes as the Obama administration sends up to 300 military advisers into Iraq; according to officials, 180 so far are on the ground in Baghdad.

They have not left the city, and they're working on setting up a Joint Operations Center. It is unclear whether and when they might leave Baghdad to set up a similar center in the northern part of the country.

Heavy Iranian involvement means there will be no possible reconciliation with Iraqi Sunnis or Baathists, so the fading pipe dream of 0bummer and John Heinz Kerry is circling the toilet.

It looks like we're on the eve of all out civil war.

Fortunately, we're on both sides of this war. We're supporting the "moderates" in ISIS in Syria, and the Shiites/Iranians in Iraq.

And nobody in big Barry's inner circle or any of the dipsticks at the State Department or Pentagon seem to have noticed this little problem, or, if they have, they seem to be OK with it.

And our 300 military advisors are looking more and more like hostages. These men have been placed in terrible danger with no discernable or justifiable goal.

So, if I understand BHO’s strategy, we’re going to come to an accommodation with the Iranians which will let them essentially take over the southeastern part of Iraq, and we’ll overlook their A-bomb program in return.

But, at the same time, to be fair and balanced, Obama will ask us to give $500 million in weapons and training to the “vetted moderate” Sunnis fighting in Syria, pretending that these aren’t mostly the same Sunnis that are ISIS in Iraq.

Am I missing some subtle strategy here?

The only guy more stupid than Odumbo and Kerry is Maliki.

There should have been a residual force left in Iraq and now it's too late.

Fighting Muslim wars is a no win situation.

Encourage them to kill each other - then give them the weapons to finish the job.

But low tech ones. No planes, nukes or bombs.

Oh we are assured that the funding and arming of Islamists in Syria, only went to moderates. None of that is making it’s way into Iraq! (Quack!)

As we predict all out civil war, I think we need to remember the predictions from 2003. It remains to be seen how much sympathy the ISIS/ISIL faction will get in Iraq.

With them cutting off the heads of the locals, it may be that they want them gone as much as the government in Iraq does.

At this point, popcorn and sodas, T-Times in advance, seem to be our government’s main reaction to all this.

It’s the Libya thing all over again, only this time projected over months not hours.

Of course Stevens had demanded more protection for months, so my take on it might be a bit off there.

I think there’s a good chance Maliki was only posturing for position. “Lets see how much I can get?”

Then Obama said, “Okay, we’ll leave.” Maliki was probably left with his jaw on the floor.

O’Dumbo and the Perjurer have certainly worked their magic.

Where’s that graphic of Obama standing in a ruin saying, “My job is done here.”

Carter gave Iran to the Muslims, and Obama give Iraq to Iran.

I think you have it exactly right. And we all know Obama is incapable of negotiating a deal. Negotiation and compromise is not rocket science, but he seems physically incapable of it.

The man had a child's view of what the Presidency would mean to him. It didn't help that he had been a community organizer, spending other people's money to do as he damn well pleased, nobody able to day no. (Surely he would have even more leeway once he was President King.)

He didn't know the president has to compromise to get things done. It just didn't compute. Iraq comes up, you're absolutely right. Negotiate? What's that?

Nothing like a couple of civil wars elsewhere, nearby, to make themselves look good. Thanks mojito.

Our “advisors” will be become hostages and beheading video bait. But, like, why does Obama care anything about that? It gave him a few conveniently timed headlines and to him that is all that matters.
