Sen. Mike Lee: Congress Should Withhold the President’s Funds Until he Stops Breaking the Law
TPNN ^ | June 27, 2014

Posted on 06/28/2014 4:48:11 PM PDT by kingattax

On Thursday, TPNN’s Tim Constantine spoke with Tea Party Senator Mike Lee about the president’s continued efforts to erode the separation of powers between the branches of government and the Supreme Court ruling that held that President Obama’s repeated recess appointments were, in fact, unconstitutional.

Sen. Lee praised the Court’s decision, which was unanimous, that held that the president, once again, overstepped the bounds afforded to his office by the Constitution.

Speaking about Speaker of the House John Boehner’s intention to file suit against the Obama Administration, Sen. Lee expressed approval of the effort, but cautioned that the lawsuit should not be the only remedy sought to curb President Obama’s power-grabs.

It’s an excellent idea. The House control the purse, I never understood why they don’t use it.

The boys up in the House need to show the American people that they have a pair and shut down ALL funding to the Executive Branch until they stop breaking the law.

I agree.Take away the Residents pleasure times flying off on Air Force one and vacationing on the Taxpayers dime.Tell the Executive moron More work and less play.

Its time for the Resident to clean up this National and International mess he’s created.

Not only that, impeachment is not limited to the president. Certain senior appointees can also be impeached, and I believe federal judges can be as well. So let’s get to it, TP representatives!

Cruz and Lee tried to show them how last October, but the GOP-E undercut them.

This is why the Founding Fathers decided that only Americans should be allowed to be elected as President of the United States. They knew that jackasses from say, Kenya Africa, were too stupid to understand how the United States of America works and would only screw everything up. They were right but we didn’t want to listen to them.

Regarding Sen. Mike Lee's suggestion, yes, James Madison had indicated in Federalist No 58 that the Founding States had given the House of Representatives the sole power of the purse to stop the Senate and Oval Office dead in their tracks by witholding funding if it needed to.
The Federalist Papers : No. 58

The problem is that even the HoR is corrupt, the HoR evidently giving Obama a blank check somewhere along the line to finance his anti-USA projects independently of Congress.

In other words, the HoR's readings of the Constitution at the beginnings of the 2011 and 2013 legislative sessions were evidently nothing more than a dog-and-pony show for low-information voters.

Patriots and former Obama supporters need to exercise their voting muscle in the 2014 elections to elect lawmakers who are willing to force corrupt Congress back into its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited power cage.

Right on Mike.

Yes, it's unlikely to happen, but we have to start somewhere. Talking about it is a start.

Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution says:

Section 4

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

What’s happening on our southern border is an invasion conceived and abetted by our president.
