The armies separated; and, it is said, Pyrrhus replied to one that gave him joy of his victory, that one other such would utterly undo him/5/. For he had lost a great part of the forces he brought with him, and almost all his particular friends and principal commanders; there were no others there to make recruits, and he found the confederates in Italy backward. On the other hand, as from a fountain continually flowing out of the city, the Roman camp was quickly and plentifully filled up with fresh men, not at all abating in courage for the losses they sustained, but even from their very anger gaining new force and resolution to go on with the war.

cotton1706:".. the GOP establishment has become essentially the same as the Democrats: same goals, just different paymasters. "

The GOPe’s conservative base are their house negros. We’re permitted to send them money and vote for their hand-picked candidates, but never have a voice in anything - that’s being “uppity”. That’s why it’s necessary to send Troll “handlers” here to FreeRepublic every once in a while to browbeat anyone who dares to talk about not voting for McConnell or Thad or whoever will wind up being their 2016 Presidential candidate.

Rush has alluded to the GOP-e wondering what to do about the “conservative problem” for years. They’ve always despised us.

But this is not my dad’s or grandpa’s GOP .

I think it is. The only time the GOP was any good was when Reagan was at the top. They've gone back to what they were from Hoover through Ford.

Yep. I voted for Ford and ain’t proud of it. In fact, I haven’t been proud of a vote I’ve cast since Reagan in 1984.

Club for growth and other conservative organizations apparently have only one goal.

The defeat of GOP incumbents which is the same goal as the democrats.

For some reason the conservatives do not try to beat democrat incumbents.

Why is that ?

It is because, they can’t win against a democrat incumbent.

Except for Johnson over Feingold in 2010, the conservatives have not beaten any democrat incumbents.

I really don’t think the Cochran-McDaniel fight is over yet.

The primary results were just last Tuesday, just 3 business days ago and already the McDaniel is preparing for a challenge having found thousands of votes that were illegally cast.

Then there is the announcement from the McDaniel campaign that he will run if necessary as a write-in candidate. And if there should be a ‘sore loser’ challenge to his write-in which I don’t think can stick by federal voting rights laws, then there is the suggestion his wife will run.

In the meantime I will continue to smile at the media attempting to paint a picture that the election is over.

Let’s see what tomorrow Monday brings.

Maybe they should promise more taxpayer handouts to minorities and call their conservative base racists. It sure worked Thad Cockroach.

Yes they have. You can imagine how they felt about Reagan and those who tried to follow in his footsteps. They've been systematically purging the party for the past 25 years.

Still, not a single senator as uttered a peep against the corrupt tactics in Mississippi. This means.... no one. I am very disappointed.

As for November, there must be punishment meeted, to close open elections. TEXAS, for example. Cornyn gets the treatment, or else Texas primaries will forever corrupted, by the Mississippi template.

It's amazing to see how ruthless and dirty the gop-e will fight when they are up against conservatives. They never fight like that against the democrats. That fact is very revealing.
