Rep. Vance McAllister will run for re-election

Rep. Vance McAllister, R-Swartz, will run for re-election.

He told NOLA.com/Times-Picayune Monday that he'll leave it up to the voters to decide whether he stays or goes.

He has scheduled a "special press conference" Monday in Monroe to formally announce his decision to run for re-election this fall in the 5th Congressional District.

McAllister said he spent the weekend with his family making sure "they were on board," and that they are. He said he and they decided to leave it up to voters whether "he stays or goes."

After surveillance video from last December was leaked in April showing him kissing a married staffer, McAllister announced he would serve out the remainder of his term but not seek re-election.

Later, McAllister said he reserved the right to change his mind and seek re-election to the seat he won last November after campaigning on a platform of bringing family and Christian values to Washington D.C. The married father of five had support from members of the Duck Dynasty, including Willie Robertson.

Among a long list of candidates who plan to run for the seat is Zach Dasher, the nephew of Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson.

McAllister was voted into office, with a lot of Tea Party sympathizers, which is a good thing.

He replaced Rodney Alexander, who QUIT after 6 months into his newly elected term, to take the carrot of Governor Piyush ‘Bobby’ Jindal’s offer to be the state’s Veteran Affairs person. A position that Alexander QUIT when all the dust started rising about the inadequacies of the federal V.A. system. Lately, Alexander had made several mentions, on record, that HE MIGHT TRY TO GET HIS OLD SEAT BACK!

I believe that this is one of the reasons why McAllister is going to run for re-election. Alexander had occupied his congressional seat for many terms, and had been a do-nothing on record.

McAllister was also the choice of the Democrats in this district over the Conservative Neil Riser, who were working on his behalf (much like Thad Cochran). He was a sleazeball from the get-go.

In this case, the “Tea Party sympathizers” were conned by a scumbag who quickly joined forces with ultraliberal black Democrats such as Cleo Fields so as to defeat his conservative Republican opponent in the run-off. Whether or not his predecessor Rodney Alexander was a do-nothing career politician is irrelevant to the fact that McAllister is no conservative and that the only things he has done in the House are (I) cheat on his wife with the wife of his best friend and (ii) go back on his promise not to seek reelection.

"After surveillance video from last December was leaked in April showing him kissing a married staffer, McAllister announced he would serve out the remainder of his term but not seek re-election."

So he didn't get the expected offer from a K-Street lobbying firm.

Dear Goldwater Republican (AuH2ORepublican),

I would not be too quick to judge McAllister about ‘cheating on his wife’, since I did not find you speaking out about Vitter and the Dc madam.

McAllister has the right to change his mind, just like you do, or I, for that matter. I do not remember him stating that as one of his election goals, anyway.

If you can find me something on this ‘Cleo Fields’ thing, I will read it. I do not know who that is? Is that someone in New Orleans, and if so, that person is out of the 5th district, and means nothing to me.

Dear fieldmarshaldj,

Riser was the funeral owner, who was behind the litigation against the monks who were building caskets, if you remember that ordeal.

Riser turned in his forms to the election office, BEFORE Alexander officially announced he was QUITTING, if you remember that.

Those are acts of corruption, and still the NRA chose HIM!

Mr. Smith, this is not the first time you’ve played the deaf and dumb tactic when it has come to Cleo Fields and the Democrats supporting the liberal McAllister. You were told who he was before and were given links to that effect. Maybe you should revisit this thread where you liberally participated:

The MSM certainly has tamped-down the discussion of McAllister’s “campaign fund donations for votes” comments.

If after everything that we FReepers have posted on this subject you *still* don’t know who Cleo Fields is, I don’t think that going through all that again will edify you any.

You believe that being endorsed by Bobby Jindal is a worse sin than being endorsed by Cleo Fields. That says everything I need to know about you. If you want to continue to support an amnesty-loving RINO who sold his soul to liberal black Democrats, cheated on his wife with the wife of his best friend, promised that he wouldn’t run for reelection in order to quell demands that he resign immediately, and then went back on his word in order to try to win again with Democrat votes, then go ahead and do so, but please understand that you’re being played for a fool.

Please explain:
How is bringing litigation against a business an act of corruption?

How is submitting forms before an official announcement an act of corruption?

I don’t pay much attention to LA politics, so I’m not familiar with these stories.

That said, I won’t vote for any man who cheats on his wife. I know he loves his wife more than he loves me; so if he cheats on her...

And, I am tired of politicians making promises about how long they will stay in office, then changing their mind once they get a taste of the D.C. nightlife.

From the article:

McAllister said he spent the weekend with his family making sure "they were on board,"

Translated:

Make sure the wife does not start DIVORCE proceedings during his campaign because of his FLING with the STAFFER.

Dear GilesB,

Since you admitted that you are not familiar with Looziana politics, I’ll forgive you.

the funeral directors against the monks (Riser is a funeral director):

Submission of forms:

For the record, McAllister AND Vitter are on record as strayiing. Remember the DC Madame, that was found hanging in her own garage? She had Vitter’s name in her book. At least with McAllister, no one died.

McAllister, came into the last year of a two-year term, vacated by the QUITTING Alexander, similar to LBJ, when he became President when Kennedy was killed.

Alexander AND Riser have voiced their possibility of running, so McAllister made the choice to make that harder for the real stinkers.

Dear Goldwater Republican,

Vitter has already cheated on his wife, and possibly was in some fashion party, to the death of the DC madam, and is my district Senator.

I do not, have not, and will not like Piyush ‘Bobby’ Jindal, because he is an anchorbaby.

I am answering YOUR post. YOU are the one always talking “CleoFields”. If that person is a Negro, IDGAF!!!

Dear fieldmarshaldj,

You turned me off in one of your posts when you used the term ‘black politician’.

The only Negro politicians that have earned my respect are Alan Keyes, JC Watts, and Alan West.

The rest? I turn the channel.

You already told me that, as my memory doesn’t vanish every time a new discussion on this same subject appears. We covered everything in that thread I referred you to. You seem to harp on State Sen. Riser’s alleged shortcomings (and for the record, Riser is not running again this year, so there’s no need for you to keep attacking him).

McAllister has already disgraced himself, first by lying about being a Tea Partier (he wasn’t), and by benefitting by Democrat chicanery with Black left-wing pols (Cleo Fields, etc) pimping/endorsing/aiding his candidacy over the more Conservative Riser, the stupid crap involving getting caught on video making out with a woman not his wife, and now lying again that he would exit the race when he has broken his word.

All this sleaze, lies and deception from a guy who hasn’t even been in office 8 months.

Why you keep defending him and excuse it by going on rips of Vitter/Riser/Jindal is strange and bizarre, and all has nothing to do with McAllister. It is very curious the only other politician defending him is Cedric Richmond, the ultraleftist Democrat Congressman from New Orleans. Of course, you’re probably going to tell me you have NO idea who Richmond is, right ?
