A Sanford judge today put an end to George Zimmerman's libel suit against NBC Universal.

Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson ruled that the former Neighborhood Watch volunteer is entitled to no money from the media giant.

She issued a summary judgment in the network's favor, meaning that unless an appeals court reverses her, the case is now dead.

It costs money to appeal, Zimmerman doesn’t have any.

I remember this judge! She was known for her great beauty and sense of fairness and justice!!

Her beauty was compared to that of CHRIS FARLEY!! (before and AFTER he died)...

So this judge doesn’t think that shorting tapes to make George Zimmerman look like a racist and drum up hatred against Zimmerman is libel?

Really?

The Zimmermans are getting DEATH THREATS - partially because of what NBC did!

So he gets arrested and is found not guilty, making him a “public figure” who can’t sue for damages against NBC who, while going after him every night on the news, made him a public figure?

Since they’re saying NBC did nothing wrong then those fired employees have a case for wrongful termination.

Zimmerman loses the case for libel because in cannot prove actual malice.

Zimmerman must prove actual malice because he is a public figure.

Zimmerman is a public figure because the people who libeled him made him one.

Just what I was saying in another thread. I don’t think there is a more clear cut case of malice than this case, Zimmerman could have ended up doing life in prison! and that’s not “malice” to this effin’ bitch?

“Well that’s a weasel way to get out of a libel suit. Just declare the plaintiff to be a public figure. That’s the ticket!”

Well, yes: She would look kinda silly if she tried to call it a tax because that reason was used just recently by another highly visibly judge.

He must’ve had a crappy lawyer. She should have recused herself or at a minimum put a bag over her head.

Yeah, no kidding, BS. NBC took the original recording (provided by Florida), and edited it. But there is no evidence they took the original recording and (knowingly) edited it? Where is the evidence that NBC producers edit in their sleep?

After all the crap Zimmerman’s faced, he should have every right to become a sovereign citizen. That he hasn’t yet should prove to naysayers just how much he loves his country.

Numero #24 of Rush Limbaugh's "Thirty Five Undeniable Truths of Life" certainly applies to the hottie judge whose photos unfortunately grace this FR thread:

Per Rush: "Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society"

(...and access to judgeships for dingbat "social justice" feminine mouthpieces).

The fact that Nelson, who handled the criminal case, did not recuse herself from handling the civil case...is gross judicial misconduct.

Yes. The judge should be removed from office and disbarred.

It bothers me that public figures can be libeled simply because they are a public figure.

Shouldn’t this be illegal no matter who it is?

If untruths were told about NBC by other media outlets, and it hurt their bottom line significantly, I’ll bet NBC would be in court same day.

Everywhere you look these days there is liberal stalinist tyranny.

Our country is hanging by a thread and its unraveling more and more every day.

Why is Nelson the judge in this case???

Because leftists never ever recuse themselves when they obviously should. That would require ethics on their part. Never gonna happen.

No, but his attorneys may take the case pro bono on a matter of principle. They also know that if they can clear his name and win the civil suit, Zimmerman's potential for making money and paying them 'something' in future will be assured (book deals, movie deals, etc.).
