Eric Cantor's Buddies Move Party Money Away From Dave Brat

The Washington Post reported Friday that party players who were supporting soon-to-be-former Congressman Eric Cantor have pulled a fast one on the man who defeated him.

Last week during a 7th District Committee meeting in Virginia, “Cantor loyalists who still sit on the 7th District Committee outmaneuvered Brat supporters to strip the committee of most of its budget — nearly $400,000.” According to the Washington Post, a parliamentary maneuver allowed the money to be moved so that Brat’s campaign couldn’t use it. Brat was to use the money for a get out the vote campaign.

The move may assist the candidacy of Democratic opponent Jack Trammell who will be running against Cantor over the next four months.

But those who were supporting Cantor are apparently still not over the fact that Brat has placed Cantor into retirement. Soon Cantor will have to vacate his suite of offices in the U.S. Capitol that are located between the Rotunda and Statuary Hall. And soon Cantor will lose his four person Secret Service-like U.S. Capitol Police security detail that has been driving him from Richmond to Washington DC and toy any other event of his choosing.

Cantor’s aloofness in his district is what turned many constituents off. He appeared to be too important for town halls, meetings with constituents and questionnaires asking about his views on the important issues of he day. Now, his operatives are making it difficult of man who sent Cantor packing.

The maneuver prompted an angry outcry from Brat’s camp.

“They just wanted to get the money out of the committee so we wouldn’t have it. It was retribution,” said Robert Stuber, the Post’s reports. The deep divide between Tea Party Republicans and the rest of the party continues.

Really? Someone should tell Brat!

Seriously, I’d like to see your spin on this.

Supporting the illegal invasion of our country is just cause for removal from office.

Cantor came out for helping that happen. And got removed as a result.

“...Find a party that DOES march to your drummer...”

I did, friend. They’re called the TEA Party. I’m marching to those drums. And those drums say “Get in line with the REAL Republican principles and stop playing Democrat Lite”.

Way I see it - the GOP-e is either with the Tea Party, or they’re with the Democrats. No shades of grey.

Dear Defiant, it’s time.

THE TOUGH ROAD TO KNOCKING OUT BOEHNER BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE...

“Boehner faces token opposition in November from Miami University professor Tom Poetter, who beat restaurant supervisor Matthew Guyette in the Democratic primary.

It’s going to be a difficult thing for Ohio Republican and Independent Conservatives to change party affiliation between now and November 4th and hold their noses knowing they’re going to be voting for a whacked out liberal who wants Amnesty and a pathway to citizenship for illegals and also refuses to repeal Obamacare!”

“Grimes says she is a major supporter of coal and her campaign said she opposes the Environmental Protection Agency’s carbon limits on power plants. That is a position opposite the one that President Barack Obama and most Democrats in the Senate take.

The McConnell campaign is charging hypocrisy as she receives funds from Democrats who support the EPA’s stricter standards.

But Grimes will paint McConnell as a powerful elected official who stood by and watched coal jobs leave the state.”

Remember this when people on FR tell us to “vote for the most conservative guy on the ticket.”

Remember it in the local elections as well as the national if you hope to end this scam.

Anyone surprised?

Yet, we are told we must vote for these people in November

Not voting is very simply a vote FOR the real opponent, the dems.

Old folks had a saying about “cutting one’s nose off to spite one’s face’. Get it?

Get it? Yeah, we’ve been getting in the tail pipe because of your way of thinking. Not anymore. The real opponent is big government. The GOP is an impediment to ridding us of it.

Guess that brings up “jumping from the frying pan into the fire”.

There is no pure Black or White in politics, never has been , never will be. Even George Washington and Thomas Jefferson did some things that some people didn’t like.

You don’t have to change party affiliation to vote for whoever you want in the general election. Affiliation is only for primaries, and even that counts for nothing in open primary states.

I get emails from the VA GOP and Pat Mullins, the exec.
I told them until I see Cantor campaigning for Brat, etc. they can pack sand if they think they’ll get any money from me. I’ll send direct to the Brat campaign. And though it may be cutting the nose off to spite the face, I will not support Gillespie due to the back stabbing, RINO-loving GOPe cadre that got him the nomination.
I’m “small potatoes” in politics but still believe money doesn’t vote...

Not voting for the person who hates you is not voting for your enemy. We are voting for the most conservative country possible by voting to remove McConnell, Cochran, Cornyn and Graham from the US Senate and send them to retirement homes. We’ll get those seats back in 6 years, and electing those people this time will make no difference in what happens over the next two years. McConnell will give Obama everything he wants, as long as Obama threatens a shutdown.

I don’t want to hand this axe to Joe. If I hand Joe this axe, he’ll use it to murder me and my family.

Instead I’ll hand this axe to Dave. Then Dave will hand it to Joe who will use it to murder me and my family.

Joe is the Democratic Party. Dave is the GOP-establishment.

What confuses most FReepers is they continue to believe that we have a two party system.

Help the dems keep the Senate and there probably won’t be an America in 6 years.

The appropriate time to kick the GOPe out is in the Primaries!

I am hopeful McDaniel will prove that enough of holders folks had voted in dem Primary, to get the election thrown out.

I disagree. McConnell ain’t no help in stopping Obama or the Dems. A Senate with McConnell in charge is going to give us amnesty and whatever spending Obama wants. No thanks. At this point, it comes down to getting a conservative in the White House in 2016. Not a Bush. Not another RINO. A conservative. What happens in the Senate in the next two years will only matter on marginal things, but what happens in the 2016 Presidential race is going to make all the difference. I am not playing the RNC game anymore, not after they have decided to shut us out and shout us down. You may think you are an expert, but what you really are is one of the RNC’s useful idiots. The RNC has rigged the game, and I am not going to join in the game with them anymore. Conservatives only, except maybe in a liberal state, I might be persuaded to hold my nose for someone who helps. If we lose the Senate, I say so what to a McConnell-led disaster.
