If they had not killed Moe Green, everything would be OK today.
My county in Georgia of 800,000 people gets their water from a lake.
Florida and Alabama constantly sue for their “fair share”.
I love the state of Georgia but can’t stand Atlanta. For years they dumped their sewage in the Chattahoochee rather than build a treatment plant.
Even after they were ordered to build a plant or be fined, they simply paid the fines. For all I know they may still be dumping.
“... Atlanta ... rather than build a treatment plant ...”

I don’t live in Atlanta, but 30 miles northeast.
The problem wasn’t just not building a treatment plant.
The problem was (and still is) that most of Atlanta is served by ancient “combined sewers” that carry both sanitary waste and stormwater.
Whenever it rains, the wastewater treatment systems are overwhelmed with the additional volume and bypass directly to the river.
They are now spending HUGE federal tax dollars boring giant underground storage tunnels to store the contaminated water until after the stormwaters subside.
