JPMorgan Chase boss Jamie Dimon said Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with a curable throat cancer, but will remain working while undergoing treatment.
The prognosis from doctors is "excellent" and it was caught quickly, he wrote in a memo to colleagues and shareholders.
Dimon, 58, will receive radiation and chemotherapy treatment over the next eight weeks at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. Although he will curtail his traveling, the bank CEO expects to be actively working during that period.
He made the announcement just before he was about to leave on a previously scheduled trip to five European countries, said spokesman Joe Evangelisti. That trip is now canceled.
"I feel very good now and will let all of you know if my health situation changes," Dimon wrote.

Who’s the guy who did ‘guns germs and steel”?
good luck. he’s in for a rough ride.
The comments at that site I pretty much agree with. So he is sick. Think of the misery he and his kind have done to millions of people by wiping out their savings, their jobs and homes.
Regardless of his professional ethics (of which I am not aware of, good or bad), he is sick. And will be for some time.
Prayers for Jamie and his family.
He better hope he doesn’t get “Obamacare”
I couldn't care less, really, what happens to this grubby nonentity. Let cancer eat him. No great loss.

I tend to agree with you, but he will have the very best care available when at the same time a Vet (who went to war so this bastard could clip coupons) will get $hit care from the VA and probably die.
Never heard of Jamie Farr?
In the back of my mind, which makes no sense, yes, I think. Have not looked it up, but “Mash” comes to mind. Still, Jamie is a strange name for a guy. Call the moderator, I am suddenly a sexist against the word “Jamie.” I am doomed. Jim knocking at my door with a shovel to bury me!
No thanks.
I'll save my prayers for people who produce something of value.
Bingo.
...positive lymph nodes would make his tumor at least stage III, which is somewhat more serious than they seem to imply.
Jared Diamond.
This is news?
Who cares what happens to a banker?
May he die painfully and roast in Hell.
Prayers for him.
