Multiculturalism in reverse as teenagers buck the trend towards integration (Britain)

Teenagers no more integrated with other races than the middle aged, major new study of Britain’s friendship circles shows

Decades of efforts to promote multiculturalism have gone into reverse, major new research showing teenagers are no more likely to mix with people from other racial backgrounds than those 40 years older suggests.

The study, which analyses the social lives of almost 4,300 people from 13 to 80, shows that a clear trend towards each successive generation becoming more integrated than the one before breaks down when it comes to under-18s.

Despite growing up in more diverse society than ever before at a time when mass migration has transformed the make-up of Britain, today’s teenagers have almost 30 per cent fewer friends from other ethnic backgrounds than people in their 20s and early 30s.

Overall the analysis, designed by experimental psychologists at Oxford University, found that the current generation of teenagers show similar levels of social segregation as middle aged people.

The surprise finding emerges from the first phase of research by the Social Integration Commission, a study backed by charities and business to examine the impact of increasing diversity in Britain.

It comes in the week that new figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the UK has seen the fastest population growth in Europe over the last decade, gaining as many people in that time than in the entire previous generation.

The first report from the commission, due to be published later this week, will set how closely people of different classes and generations mix in modern Britain.

But initial results seen by The Sunday Telegraph highlight concerns about the level of integration along racial lines among the youngest age-group.

For 70 years I've been hearing, "Birds Of A Feather Flock Together."

Does anyone know what that means?

I’m not sure how the multicultis ever got the idea that their little social engineering scheme would lead to racial comity. After all, if you Balkanize a population and tell each faction that it has just cause to hate another faction, you’d have to be pretty stupid to hope that it would result in one big happy family.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me." seems to have lost its meaning too.

Are there really people who do not understand that “multiculturalism” is the opposite of integration??

Are you describing the UK or the US or both?

We are insuring multicultural interaction by making this country a majority-minority country by 2043. Each year we bring in 1.1 million legal, permanent immigrants, 87% of whom are minorities as defined by the USG. Immigrants and their US born children comprise 80% of our population growth. By 2019, half of the children 18 and under will be minorities.

That’s a shocking report. WOW. People tend to stick to people that are like them? Whoulda thunk it.

When you open the flood gates to millions of immigrants and don’t force them to integrate this will happen. Rather than new Brits or new Americans we have African Muslims who won’t speak a work of English that live in neighborhoods that are more dangerous than Mosul.

They have always known it would not lead to peace. This is how they divide and conquer when they cannot get citizens of a country to adopt their policies. They create ever more discord. It is happening all around us in the U.S.

It means that beagles prefer to run with beagles and Chihuahuas with Chihuahuas which is very normal and that, forcibly mixing them, is against nature and can only cause social problems.

For 70 years I've been hearing, "Birds Of A Feather Flock Together."

It means that the birds have only one feather between them, and they must coalesce into a single group in order to be able to use the one feather they have at the same time.

What? That's not really what it means?

OK. Never mind.

Both; in fact, a good deal of what was once known as the West. In my lifetime I have seen tremendous progress in race relations spurned, mocked, and held in contempt by people with a vested interest in hatred. In a society set up with a single set of rules for everybody it really doesn't matter who's in the majority status, or it shouldn't. In a society set up with a central authority playing one group off against another, It's everything. In a society set up under the understanding that people really ought to be left alone whether they choose to assimilate or not, it is less of a problem; in a society set up such that the government and the ruling class don't leave anyone alone, it's a powder keg. We have a powder keg growing right here.

Agree. We have entered the era of tribal politics. It is all down hill from here. Demography is destiny. Multiculturalism and diversity are not strengths. History is littered with the carcasses of great nations that got it wrong.

Charlton Heston said during breaks in shooting of the Planet of the Apes, the actors would hang out with other actors who were playing the same type of ape.

People naturally want to associate with people like themselves. That’s why they needed bayonets, federal troops, extortion, and 24/7 propaganda to force integration.

Which tells me the reality of how people really are; in time, we’ll see a lot less integration.
